My 7 almost 8 month old little girl is pooping like crazy for the past few days I formula feed her and normally she poops once a day and it looks like those miniature chocolate eggs you get at Easter. We started feeding her more solid foods but lately she is even refusing to take her bottle much less solid foods. Her poop is a bright mustard yellow and reminds me of seedy peanut butter. Should i take her to her pediatrician? Also she is still refusing to even attempt to crawl and can almost hold her head up on her own.

Does she have a fever? When my daughter was sick (with an ear infection) she also started to refuse formula when I called her doctor they seemed more concerned that she was not eating alot, then the fever. I say call your doctor and just let them know whats going on. They will usually tell you if the need you to bring her in or if you can just treat it at home. Most pediatrician offices take calls with just questions for the doctor. As for the crawling and head control I would mention it at your next well baby visit. The doctor will let you know if its anything to be concerned about.

Ok. First, about the pooping. It's possible that she is teething. They tend to poop more around then - it coincides with excessive drool. If you're feeding her fruits like prunes and such, that could also affect her poop schedule. Try switching to apples and bananas and rice for a little while.

It's also pretty normal for babies to cut back on formula when they start solids. And if she IS teething, then her gums might be bothering her too much to want anything touching them. Try a nice gum massage with your finger. Or give her a cold washcloth to chew on before you try to feed her.

Crawling is not considered a developmental milestone. My daughter didn't "officially" crawl until about 10 months. I would be more concerned about her not being able to hold her head up on her own. How is she able to eat solids without choking if she can't hold her head up? You should talk to your pediatrician about that - she might have a pinched nerve or something out of whack.

Good luck!

I have a 3 month old and he was doing the same. His poop was the same colored and looked seedy. We took him in and the pediatrician said it was dirhea. We went to the hospital to do tests, and found out he had rotavirus, which was making him poop.
