Newborn & Baby - January 2007

My husband and I are going to get our baby baptized in June. Our plan was to do an afternoon service, borrow the community hall, and make up some sandwich platters to invite our close friends to after for lunch (about 50 people). The plans have changed- now the baptism will not be until 6pm-7pm... So what should we do afterwards? Any ideas?

We live in Italy (we are American) so we can't have it catered or anything. We don't have other options to change the service either.

Thanks

is it b/c of hotspots created in the formula that can burn baby's mouth?

OR

is does it somehow change the formula's nutrition??

i'm wondering what you all believe, if you could, please support your answer with a website or the formula's label.....

this is not concerning breastmilk....just formula!!

thanks!

MY daughter is 5 months old, are we just moved into a new house, the first night she was in her new room, she woke up screaming in the middle of the night. Do you think that she knows she is somewhere differnt, or could it have been something else that woke her up and she was scared.

OKAY, I WENT IN FOR MY ULTRASOUND AT 20 WEEKS (IT'S A BOY!) AND THE DOCTOR SAID THAT THE BABY WEIGHED IN AT 12OZ, AND THAT WAS KINDA SMALL FOR THE AGE OF THE BABY, BUT THEN WHEN I LOOK ONLINE IT SAYS AT 22 weeks that the baby is suppose to weigh up to 12 oz. I'm confused, do you think that i'm farther along than i thought i was or are all the websights wrong? thanks! sry bout the caps....didn't realize I was doing that.... PS. I'm suppose to be 22 weeks now....

My little girl is such a good baby. She is smart and loving and is advanced for her age - 10 months. But, she does this thing where she sticks her fingers down into her mouth and gags. She laughs about it most of the time, but yesterday she did it to the point where she threw up. I try to get her to stop, by not making a big deal out of it and sticking a pacifier in her mouth, but she just keeps doing it. I tried saying NO firmly and taking her hand away from her mouth, but she just keeps it up. How can I make her stop?

My best friend just called and said her 6 month old son might possibly have measles. They were at Disney World last week and that is where his doctor feels he caught them. She is distraught and has been reading up on the subject and wanted to know the diiference between the two.

My baby is now 6 weeks old and I started my first period. I am bleeding way to much I think. I am wearing 2 heavy duty pads and an hour and a half later it is soaked through to my underwear. When I gave birth to my baby, there was a hemmorage scare that I had put the nurses through. I do have clots but not very big. Should I be concerned? Is this normal? Any opinions or advise would be helpfull. Thank You.

I have a six week old baby, was just wondering if he was on the right track. I know every baby is different, but just wanted to get other mom's inputs. He is currently drinking 5 ounces every 4 hours.

When my 11-month old wants my attendition (i.e. like when I'm standing doing dishes), he'll crawl over and bite me. If he has a pacifer in his mouth, he won't do this. I try to tell him NO, but he doesn't understand. Also, he constantly blows raspberries. At first it was cute, but now he does it all the time - especially in your face! Other than that, he's a great baby. How should I handle these issues?

Why is that every time I come on here, there is always a question about how do I get my child to sleep all night? I know we as humans need sleep, and once baby comes we can't wait for the day to come when they do sleep all night but doesn't anyone know that all babies are different, and they wake for a reason, whether they are hungry, startled, upset, or whatever. I have a 5 month old, and I loved the quiet time with her at night feeding her, it was a form of bonding, and even now that shes sleeping most of the night, I still enjoy her waking me up at 3am, and of course she doesn't want anything, just her soother. But I mean we all knew before getting pregnant that we would be up at night with your bundle of joy, so why do so many people want to rush their babies and get them to sleep all night. Now don't get me wrong, I love my sleep as well but we as parents are responsible for our child, so why is it people want their kid sleeping all night, just because we are deprived of sleep
