Newborn & Baby - January 2007

[Selected]: All categories Pregnancy & Parenting Newborn & Baby

The baby is 6 months old now, I haven't seen the father at all since I told him, he broke up with me and never talked to me again, he just ignored me, and I find out he has a new girlfriend, but I don't think he was cheating on me, he knows the kids his and I found out he told his girlfriend and friends that it wasn't his hes trying to avoid the situation every way possible, he wants nothing to do with it. I really need help with my baby and it's not fair, sometimes I think I just shouldn't bother, but I hate how he's getting away with it, well he is a pothead, and he is only 17 but that is my babys father and I don't want my kid growing up without one. he said he didn't want his parents finding out, i don't want to tell them either because i'm scared they'll try to get visitation, I don't trust them, I don't want my baby away from me, and what if they don't care? He changed his number from me but I have his address and house phone, so please help me on what to do.

I am opting to change my families diet to an organic one but due to my food bill doubling as a result I'd really like some reassurance & information about why this would be a good move & why it is worth paying the extra money to eat organic.

Its for my sister and her baby who are both coming to stay with me as she is completely exhausted as her baby has only slept through once(which was when she was newborn).
Im hoping I can help get her established into a routine. She wakes between 2-5 times in the night and is fed twice.

I think the problem is that she doent like taking her milk in the daytime when solids are avalible but is happy to take it in the night.
Im gonna suggested putting most of her food in with her meals so she gets her allowence that way and hope it fills her up enough to sleep through eventually.
But apart from that Im stuck as my 2 kids are angels they are2.5yrs and 4mths and both sleep for 12hrs without waking.
Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreiciated.

ok i'm not a complete ditz when it comes to my daughter. but i'm curious about her temperature. i used an ear thermometer on her, the only kind i have. works fine, new battery.

well i took her temperature 3 times, 5 minutes apart. and it ranged from 96.2-96.6. now normally when we take her to the doctor for a check up it's around 98.5-9. she's not acting too strange though i did notice she seems more crabby than usual. she was still kinda playing (more roling up in her blanket) and is still eating a little, but less than her normal.

she is 10 months old. i gave her a little motrin, didn't know what else to do. she's in a one piece footed fleece jammie outfit. after about an hour her temp had only reached 96.8. i haven't taken it since because she's in bed sleeping. is her temp any reason to cause alarm? and be serious here. i didn't call her dr. because it was 7pm. didn't take her to the ER because husband said she should be fine. but i'm still worried.

My daughter is 7 weeks old and she has her first cold. She has been congested the past few days and she just gets so misrable sometimes. She was especially bad tonight. Her doctor had to reschedule her 6 week appointment until Feb. 5 so she hasn't seen her since she was 2 weeks old. Mainly, Natalie (my daughter) has just a stuffy nose and congestion. Since this is her first cold, should I call the doc or should I wait till next Monday since she doesn't have a fever or anything? I really don't know what to do. I have been using the humidifier, saline drops, the nasal aspirator, and giving lots of hugs and kisses. I just hate the thought of having to drag her out into all of this snow tomarrow morning when I go to work. It is only 7 degrees right now!

She sleeps with me at night, nurses & sleeps...she will stay content dozing and nursing every 3 -4 hrs as long as Im beside her.. If I get out of the bed she wakes up and cries.
During the day its worse..she MUST be held. Cries even in the swing.

She seems to nurse for comfort...doesnt really drink...just likes to be 'latched on'...after a few minutes she usualy dozes off......but if I put her down to go eat, bath, wash dishes..anything SHE CRIES.....I pick her up she stops crying....after a little while she starts grunting and looking for the breast..I try to nurse her again...she falls asleep...and we start all over again...ect ect ect

Help..she used to take a soother...no more...she used to like the swing..no more..HELP I have no family or friends and am all alone...I cant hold her all the time...and I think shes too young to let cry it out

Any suggestions?...Im even considering putting her on the bottle because this 'nursing on demand' thing is getting out of hand

My 4 month old son did not sleep in my bed for the first week or so but ever since hen he has, he is now 4 months old. The only way I can get him to sleep in his crib is on his stomach, he will not sleep on his back. I know it is bad to sleep on his stomach so I always end up with him back in my bed.
