My gyn had what they called a "pre-conception" check up. She ran through all the various tests I need, and made sure my body was in good shape for a pregnancy. I started pre-natal vitamins right away, to make sure I had the right levels of everything before I got pregnant.
good luck!

get some blood work done to check if you're anemic. also get your B-12 and folate checked. docs don't normally do, but ask.
get a good prenatal vitamin and start taking it now to prepare your body. eat better. if you are a little overweight, try to lose some by healthy eating exercising, not fad diets.
nourish your body as it will carry life. needs good support to run two or more people on one body. tremendous amounts of energy.
and when you DO get pregnant, double what you cook and freeze half. those meals can be heated up fast when you have a newborn in the house.
good luck.

Make sure you get enough folic acid for one thing.
Other than that, eat right in general and try not to let stress get to you.
