I absolutely love advent bottles!!! Always did. We used them the whole time so did my sister. No colic, no bad gas, the different nipples sizes were great and there was a wonderful transition to sippy cups and away from bottle all together. He never missed his bottle never asked for it or anything. We took it away at 11 months too.

Playtex, both the drop-in kind and the ventair kind. My milk dried up when he was 3 months, and he's been bottle fed ever since without even the slightest sign on an ear infection.

Whatever brand you go with, the hard plastic ones that don't have a vent to counteract the vaccum caused by sucking seem to be the worst for ear infections. I think that's what that other answer was trying to get across.

But the ventair (and the other brands that work the same way) and the drop-ins are about as close to the breast as manmade things can be right now, and there is no vaccum.

I use the Dr. Browns bottles. They reduce the amount of gas baby gets, and the special pressure equalization parts inside mean that these bottles do not create a vacuum when the baby is sucking the fluid out. Bottle fed babies are more prone to ear infections due to the fact that they often have to suck harder on the bottle to get more out when it starts to create a vacuum inside. So, less vacuum means hopefully less ear infections. So far it works for me. No ear infections so far and much less gas than before I switched.

And they have 3 flow sizes for the nipples, plus a Y cut nipple for those who are told to add cereal to bottles for medical reasons such as acid reflux.

Of all the expensive bottles out there my daughter likes the Parent's Choice bottles from Wal-mart. Very Cheap!

I have tried Playtex, Dr. Brown's, and EvenFlo. The EvenFlo works the best for my needs and they are easier to clean. The Dr. Brown's is good but too many parts and pieces. The Playtex leaked (even though it claims it won't). I had three bottles continually do it regardless of what I did.

Playtex Nursers.... love them.... except when she holds them unsidedown, and lets them leak out everywhere.
