When my 11-month old wants my attendition (i.e. like when I'm standing doing dishes), he'll crawl over and bite me. If he has a pacifer in his mouth, he won't do this. I try to tell him NO, but he doesn't understand. Also, he constantly blows raspberries. At first it was cute, but now he does it all the time - especially in your face! Other than that, he's a great baby. How should I handle these issues?

Lots of kids go through this. My daughter used to bite, but only when she was teething. My niece is going through it right now. The sitter has had to call my brother several times to come get his daughter. Once, she bit 4 kids in the first 15 minutes of the day. My brother did it when he was little, and so did my husband. My mom and his mom said that, as soon as they bit them back, they stopped. Most parents don't agree with this nowadays, though. I don't think I could have done it to my daughter. To fix her biting problem, though, I would just say "no" in a stern voice and sit her down by herself (she wasn't mobile yet, though), but stay within eye-sight and talk to her a little bit so she didn't feel abandoned. I would just let her cry because she hated getting put down. Try just sitting up on the couch or something where he can't reach you to bite you. If he's doing it to get attention, he'll learn another way to get it.

My twins used to bite a lot and nothing that I tried stopped them (shouting, pushing away, biting back, smacking) although I probably didnt smack or bite back hard enough as it hurt m eto d it but someone suggested it would work. They have now grown out of it (at 17 months) and just do it occasinally when fighting.

I wonder if you ignore baby when he is blowing raspberries he might stop. If you give him attension even f you are telling him off he will conyinue to do it.
