OKAY, I WENT IN FOR MY ULTRASOUND AT 20 WEEKS (IT'S A BOY!) AND THE DOCTOR SAID THAT THE BABY WEIGHED IN AT 12OZ, AND THAT WAS KINDA SMALL FOR THE AGE OF THE BABY, BUT THEN WHEN I LOOK ONLINE IT SAYS AT 22 weeks that the baby is suppose to weigh up to 12 oz. I'm confused, do you think that i'm farther along than i thought i was or are all the websights wrong? thanks! sry bout the caps....didn't realize I was doing that.... PS. I'm suppose to be 22 weeks now....

I would not listen to some of these websites. You don't know how credible they are! Your baby is fine. If the docs were that worried about the size, they would be setting up some tests for you. Every baby is different. If you are smaller in size, like petite, and if the baby is a girl, chances are your baby will be like you!

I wouldn't worry about any of that. Everything is estimated. They use averages and we all know there is a high side and a low side to them. Just remember even if you are due on a certain day, the baby is probably going to come up to 2 weeks before or 2 wks after that date anyway. Good luck!

Babies grow at their own pace. Also, u/s after 20 weeks is not very accuarate at determining gestational age. From what I understand, it's the pattern of growth that is more important that the precise weight at each u/s. Also, as I understand it, u/s can be quite off about weight. My own DS was expected to weigh 8lbs or less at birth (my last u/s before he was born) but weight 9lbs10oz.

Call your doc and ask how far along you are for sure. Dont worry about baby being to small or to big.
