My freinds baby did that too. She took her to the Dr and he said it is a normal thing for babies and toddlers to do. He said that, for an baby, the gagging reflx is actually pleasant to them, not like it is for adults. Its normal and they will stop in their own time.

When my 8 year old was a baby he did the same thing. It was very annoying. He would gag himself all the time and laugh like u said. There was nothing I could do he out grew it at around 2 years. Hang in there.

This is very common actually she is just testing her 'gag reflex'. She will stop soon, I promise but if you are really concerned about it call her doctor and speak with a nurse which will be able to help you. When you say no and she continues you need to start a punishment. We put our sons nose in the corner when he could stand on his own and prior to that we put him in his bed and left him alone for a few minutes. Be sure to tell her why it's a no-no even if she doesn't understand. This will make punishments easier in the future.

My daughter did the same thing. Thankfully my daughter never threw up but she certainly had her gag reflexes working. She would laugh and I would ingnore it, it didn't last long.(whcih was hard becuase I wanted to laugh at the faces she was making).
I think they are just discovering their body when they do such things. It certainly isn't anything to be alarmed about.

Yeah my son does it too. Pediatrician said it was normal. Sorry My son started at about your daughters age and is now almost 17 months and still doing it. Just keep up the no's and pulling her hand away. Eventually when she is older she will stop.

thats really weird ......ask your doc or pediatrician. Ive only seen babies do that when something is either stuck in their throat or they are sticking something down there..yikes that would scare me! until then keep telling her NO and swat her hand away

why does she think its a game?? someone must have been laughing at her one time when she was doing that...unless she see's you throwing ur food up :O ..lmao jj
i dont know ask her why she does that and if she wont stop than put something she hates eating on her fingers when she does that and she 'll prolly stop..like my nephew hates ketchup so his mom puts ketchup on things he puts in his mouth so he wont put those things in his mouth.
