Any calendar will tell you that your birthstone goes by your birth month. Not your year. And, my mother taught me that, so no need to ask her.
I was born in Oct, so my stone is opal. And the gem is Rose Zircon. Its the same every year. Sorry to burst your little bubble.

ok i think you meant that it has to do with the month you were born in not the year the year thing would be like chinese whether you are a rat or pig or horse not a stone because stones are for months so good luck with your english skills
