My baby has been sleeping all through the night since she was 2.5 months. Sleeping isn't the problem, getting to sleep before 11 is. I've tried baths, keeping her awake from 5p.m.,etc. I wake her at 9:30a.m. every morning. She eats every four hours. I wake her to eat during the day to keep her on schedule. Should I let her wake up on her own every mornig and through out the day? Any suggestions will help.

everybody in germany recommends to put 1 teaspoon or so in babyfood (selfcooked, jars...), the doctors, all the babybooks, all the recipes on the internet, all the baby cook books...
reason is so that the fat in the food comes out...which is important for the baby to get all the vitamins he needs, sorry, don't know how to explain it in a better english.
i asked my pediatritian here in the us, and he said, no its not necessary, it could go back to the lungs. but somehow i know its right what they in germany do and say in this matter. still i don't do it, because he said i should't do it.
and i never saw in the recipes for babys here that you put oil (best would be rape oil) in babyfood.
so how do you do it. do you ever use oil??? did you know that oil in babyfood is good for the baby???
thanks

When you start your baby on baby food how long do you give them one thing (so you know if they are allergic) before you change to another kind?

One of the nurses in the hospital 2 weeks ago when my daughter was born asked me, "who put her in there like that!?" My husband had put my daughter backward in her little nursery bed, you know that plastic & metal one on wheels? I said, "my husband did, why!?" She said it means we'll be back there in one year, meaning we'll be having another baby this time next year. That made our day, of course!! Even if it's just a myth. Have you heard that? What do you think?

It all started on sunday with this green mucusy fluid coming out of my sons ear. So monday morning I went to the doctor and he said there was nothing in his ear and that I must have been mistaken and that he does not have an ear infection. So I take him the next day to Daycare and when I go to retrive him they tell my that there was fluids coming out of his ear again. They say that he is not to come back without a written letter from his doctor. so I call the doctor and he comes to my house to see my son and he say its fine and there is no infection.
I have see an ear leak like this. Its greenish and looks nasal mucus. I'm afraid that he is going to loss his hearing if it continues. please ease my mind and give me your apinion.

My son (11 months old) has been sick for the past 2 days. He has a fever (101-102 degrees over the course of the past few days), has about 4 soiled diapers each day, and loss of appetite. We called the doctor and they said to stop giving him milk and to call again if he wasn't better in a few days. Now we have not been giving him milk and it has been a few days, he is still sick. They won't give us an appointment until tomarrow morning. What can I do in the meantime to help my son? I am already giving him medicine and trying to get him to eat/drink as much as possible.

And do you give them sterilized water, flitered tap water, or bottled nursery water?
What about flouride? Does sterilzing the water take out the flouride?

My sister is the worst 'gagger' in the world (Ie she'll smell that the milk is off and wrech with a horrible AGH! noise). She has just had a baby and I was thinking to buy her a mask to wear while she changes nappies. Some friends/family have said this is not a good idea as it may frighten her child, but he's only a month old and I don't think he'll notice at all - any one got any ideas? Is there a dust-mask / scarf device commercially available for this? (Please don't suggest a darth vader mask, I've heard it from everyone!)

My son is 4 months old and has never had diaper rash. This morning when he woke up he seemed very irritated. I noticed a blotchy red area around his penis and testicles, and also another between his leg and testicles. I don't want to be that mother who goes to the doctor every time something is different... but also don't want to ignore a serious problem. The thing that gets me is the way this rash looks. Some of it is blotchy then some are more pimple like...What should I do?

My son is 5 months old and I just started him on carrots about 3 days ago, he also eats rice cereal, I was wondering what kind of schedule everyone has they're 5/6 month old babies on, how much they eat and when? I know my son won't be the same, just to give me an idea. He is also nursing about every 3 hours, wont take a bottle with breastmilk, refuses it! Thanks in advance everyone!

How long did they allow the wound to heal up before removing the stitches? My friend had hers removed after 3 days, I think that was too soon, the wound is not healing up.

My son states that he is the father of his girlfriends baby. Last night, I finally got to meet the girlfriend and see the baby for the first time. Both my son and his girlfriend are white, but the baby is dark skinned. The girlfriend states that her grand-father is Cherokee Indian. Is it possible for my son to be the father of a dark skinned baby? Is the cherokee gene that dominant?

he keeps on screaming with pain before he finally does potty. yet he doesn't have constipation. I don't know why it's difficult for him to pass gas and stool and how to help him effectively. his doctor hasn't really helped.

It's not really a "bite", it's more lke a nip. He likes to nip my fore-arms the best. Doesn't matter if we're cuddling, or playing, he'll put his mouth on my arm and nips just the little bit of top skin, not like a whole mouth full. He only does it to me, not his daddy or big brother. I usually tell him 'don't bite' and say 'how 'bout a raspberry?' and he'll blow, you know - makes a raspberry. That usually works but otherwise, if he bites, I flick his cheek (like they tell ya to do if a baby bites while nursing) which works immediately, but doesn't prevent him from doing it again later. I'm afraid he'll be a biter in school if I don't do something but on the other hand, it might just be 'a mommy thing'. What do you think? And yes, for any of you wise-crackers, he eats well - gets lots of protein; I'm not a supplement!
