We are going to a college football game in two weeks and are planning to bring our 2 month old baby with us (she'll be 3 months when we go). We'll be in at the Metradome in a skybox so it's not outside or anything. A bunch of my husband's nosey co-workers don't think we should bring the baby because it will be too loud or whatever. I'm not comfortable leaving her with anyone for the weekend as she is not sleeping through the night yet. Is it OK to bring her with? I was planning on just bringing our baby bjorn carrier and strapping her to me during the game. What do you think?

Do any of you ever feel enslaved by your little one's schedule? I have a six month old who is on a really good napping/feeding schedule, which is great, but I feel like I can't ever leave the house. He either needs a nap or needs to eat or something. I hate to mess up his day because I want/need to go to the store. He also doesn't like to be held very much so if we are out and about and he gets fussy, it is hard to do anything with him...

What really affects breast milk? I went to one breastfeeding class and the teacher told us caffein (to certain piont, you can have cup of tea or coffee a day), other then that almost nothing. But I still know a lot of people who belive that everything goes into a breastmilk so you have to watch really closely what you eat (like nothing spicy, what makes you bloated)..... Does anyone really know? And how about other things - alcohol, drugs, medications, smoking....?? I also heard that drinking like one beer a day makes you produce more milk...??

I've always been told that if a baby is on liquid formula not to switch to powder b/c their bellies have a hard time handling it. It is the same for babies on powder? My baby is exclusively on powder formula, but I was given 5 large cans of liquid. Is is okay to give it to him or will it tear up his tummy?

My sister just had a baby and I am trying to find the chain that some women have to attach the dummy to the child's top so that it doesn't fall to the ground. Anyone have any idea where I can get one? Thanks

As per my previous question,we live in Dubai (re-located from UK) and the weather here is quite hot. Can anyone offer any additional advice on newborms and A/C's? perhaps this affects her.
Special thanks to Island Princess, Kirsty D, Donna M and Nigel l.
I found your answers helpful and reassuring.
Its difficult living in this region in the absence of family and friends as we have difficult work schedules and no immediate support. I express my breastmilk (when not directly feeding her) and my husband is quite supporting and feeds, changes and helps when he can. Its very difficult to sleep when the baby does.
She does crease up as if in pain sometimes which is worrying and despite changing, feeding winding etc, she sometimes still does not settle which gets me thinking if anything is wrong with her. Aside from that, she's a bright, healthy and alert baby and we love her to bits!
Please advise accordingly.Thanks again!

As technological advances in biomed, it is possible nowadays to "choose" babies' gender according to their parents favor. So they can order baby girl or baby boy or... Is it ethical or even justifiable for you? Please mention your standpoint (religious, moral/normative, legal, or else..)

I know that adults can die from it too, but obviously young babies are more at risk.

How old do babies have to be before they are no longer high risk?

i have a lovely 4 week daughter but am finding that she sleeps most of the day and from 9pm onwards, she wakes and sleeps every 30mins to 1 hour needing to be breastfed. I breastfeed her but for most of the night she's pretty crabby and needs either feeding or comforting.Any suggestions on getting a routine or easing her crabby moods. Thanks in advance!

Does Kai sound like a good name for a boy? I am pregnant with a baby boy (2nd child) and this is the only boys name I have found that I like.
I just want some other peoples opinions on this name. (^_^)

I've been breastfeeding my daughter since she was born, so four months now,

The situation is that I have a seminar to go to and family/kids are not allowed..so I bought a Medela 2-phase Harmony Manual brest pump..(considering that I probably don't need a fancy one for the occasional use)

I've tried at nites after the baby sleeps to pump..so far I was only able to get like an once or so in two or three sittings..

-tried thinking about the baby
-tried waiting to get more milk
-my letdown doesnt seem to letdown with the pump
-is it my pump maybe?

Can somebody point me in the right direction?

Okay, I have a new baby (my first baby) and he will be 4 months old next week. I was just wondering how long it took ya'll to leave your babies overnight? I've been thinking about it because my husband and I have our anniversary coming up on the 16th. I'd like for us to stay the night in a hotel but I just can't imagine leaving the baby all night long. I hate being away from him for more that 2 hours and when I am I can't wait to get home and cuddle him. So, what do you think?

I have a child with ADHD and a friend suggested giving him Melatonin to help with him going to sleep as he likes to stay up to four and five in the morning some nights. Other nights its jus 1 or 2 am. So she gave me some Melatonin but it doesent say anything on it about warnings and regulations. If there is anyone in the medical proffesion please help! Oh yes, he is only 4 and he is about 37 inches in height and weighs about 45 lbs.
