We are going to a college football game in two weeks and are planning to bring our 2 month old baby with us (she'll be 3 months when we go). We'll be in at the Metradome in a skybox so it's not outside or anything. A bunch of my husband's nosey co-workers don't think we should bring the baby because it will be too loud or whatever. I'm not comfortable leaving her with anyone for the weekend as she is not sleeping through the night yet. Is it OK to bring her with? I was planning on just bringing our baby bjorn carrier and strapping her to me during the game. What do you think?

Loud noises don't seem to bother her much, she might startle for a second and then is fine.

We took our son to his first college football game when he was two months old. He flirted it up with the cheerleaders (naturally, Daddy was saying, "That's my boy!"). Our college has a Halitzure (read a REALLY BIG gun) that they fire off when the home team scores a touch down. Chance fell asleep and didn't even flinch when they set that off.
You know your baby better than anyone else. If you think she'll handle the noise, then take her. Be prepared to take her out of the stands if she gets fussy and possibly even leave the game if you need to. Everyone around us gave us dirty looks when we first showed up but we were complimented on how good he was by the end of the game!

You just need to keep at it. Your puppy is only 3 months old. Would you expect a 1yo child to know how to use the toilet? Every time you find your puppy peeing in the wrong place, you need to either place him/her immediately on the newpaper, or outside (outside is better, since you will have to eventually transition from the newspaper to outside anyway) - it does not matter if the have finished. Take your puppy outside as soon as they eat or drink, as well as regularly between these times, as your puppy will learn that outside is the right place to go to the toilet. If you are not home during the day, crate training your puppy is an option, as dogs dont like to go to the toilet where they sleep - put a blanket and toys down one end, and newspaper up the other. Please whatever you do, remember that he/she is only a baby and does not know any better. You should never tell your puppy off for going to the toilet inside - and NEVER rub their nose in it. Good luck.

I don't think there is anything wrong with it....the noise is constant so it's not like it would scare the baby. It would probably put her to sleep! If it was me I would not let the co-workers opionions stop me. You are the mother and your motherly instincts would tell you if it was a bad idea. Have fun at the game and congrats on your baby!

While I understand your feelings, you need to consider the comfort and wishes of ALL the guests and not the convenience to yourself.
I doubt very much that folks out to enjoy a game and have a few adult beverages want the "flavor" of the outing to be changed by an infant crying etc. All of the thought seems to be given to if it is OK for the baby...... I don't think it should be primarily about the baby first but rather the wishes of the group regardless of their reasons.I KNOW you will feel offense at that statement, but I can almost assure you that is what the rest of the group is thinking and I don't believe it fair for you to decide for everyone---do you?

I say go for it. I took my daughter to the fireworks when she was 3 months old. You can always put her head against your chest if it starts to get too noisey and cover her other one with your hand. Or you can get some small earmuffs. Goodluck!

I don't know how sensitive their hearing is, or if it is fully developed. If it is really a concern you can just double check with a pediatrician/doctor and maybe bring little ear muffs/plugs to the game with you.

Take her with you. I think you are doing the right thing by using your carrier. If she is anything like my little guy she will sleep through the whole thing as long as she is close to you. Enjoy the game!

I HAVE TWO KIDS SO I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL WHEN YOU SAY THAT YOU DON'T WANNA LEAVE YOUR NEWBORN! I PERSONALY DON'T THINK YOU SHOULD BRING YOUR BABY TO THE GAME @ THAT AGE. FIRST I DON'T THINK THAT IT'S AGE APPROPRIATE, THIS TIME OF THE YEAR IS NOT GOOD FOR NEWBORNS TO BE OUT IN THE WEATHER ESPECIALLY @ NIGHT.

from one mom to another i don't think you should take her. even in the skybox it is going to be very noisey and she may get scared. but this is your child, its your decision ultimately. my daughter wasn't even 2 months old yet when we were evacuated to Baton Rouge for hurricane Katrina and just the sound of the howling wind scared her. she screamed and cried all day long and barely slept that night
