But my baby LOVES them! I just think they aren't very educational, but it's funny after she started watching them, she actually started talking more! ha!

I'm not fretting or anything, but I was just curious. My little munchkin said Dada over the weekend and it was TOO cool !!!! (although of course I'd love to hear Mama). I thought I read somewhere it is a little easier to say dada than mama :) Thanks!

i think my three month old daughter might be sick. she had a really bad cold at the begining of the month and i had to take her to the hospital for two days and it took her another week to get over it after we came home. my friend and her 1 year old daughter showed up at our house unanounced and her kid had a runny nose. i asked her if she was sick and she said she had been a few days ago. i explained to her that my daughter had been really sick and i didn't want her getting sick again. they stayed an hour and her kid touched and destroyed my daughters bouncer and play gym. as soon as they left i sprayed everything with clorox anywhere sanitizer. my daughter has been really fussy the last few days, like she was when she started getting sick last time. do u think she is getting sick again?

I had a catheter put before and after I had my child. I am only 90 pounds. It was 2 weeks ago. I am having problems like a dull pain like something is still there especially after a warm shower. Is this normal? When I go to the bathroom it is a much bigger stream and sometimes uncomfortable. Is it normal and how long will it normally take to go back to normal? Is it safe to take a bath like that Instead of a shower?

My friend's baby is 1 week old exactly & she does not want to latch on. She developed jaundice also. The nurses at the hospital said that she needs something so they recommended that she pump & feed it to her in the bottle. Now she is concerned there will be nipple confusion & that the baby might not go back to the breast. She is having a hard time due to wanting to breastfeed straight from the breast, but this is the only way to get her fed.
Will she be able to go back & forth with the breast & the bottle without nipple confusion?

Have you ever noticed that when a child is wanted, it's a baby. But when it's not wanted, it's a fetus. Why does anyone think calling the scientific name makes it less of a person?

Ok here it is. I have been watching my brothers son since he was 6 weeks old. He is now 3 months. He has always been a very happy go lucky baby. Now within the last week he is having tantums that nothing help with, he is drooling, and has a little bump on his gum. I have two little girls ( 7 & 8) so I know he is teething. The problem is my brother and girlfriend are not so sure. They say it has been to long since I have had a baby to know the signs. So they are just letting him cry. ( he even has tears when he is doing it and screams like some one is killing him) But they said not to give him anything. They are making a doctors appointment for some time next week. This is killing me! I hate to let him cry like this. How can I convince them he is teething! I have thought about going and getting pain relief and orajel but hubby thinks I should butt out! Plus don't really want to start WW3.

i have a daughter who is 8 months old. she is very good at going to bed if she has her bottle, however, she will wake up a few times in the night and needs her bottle to get back to bed. doing this bottle thing works great, but the experts say that you shouldnt put your baby to bed with a bottle because he causes tooth decay.
i have tried giving her water but she just screams and shuts her mouth when i try to give it to her. what can i do? and also how do i get her to sleep though the night?

She gets put to bed every afternoon for her sleep and most of the time won't sleep even though she's tired. I get her up when she needs to be awake whether she's slept or not. She has had one pm sleep in the last 2 weeks and that was for half an hour and now she has started having horrendous temper tantrums which last an hour or so. She doesn't like being cuddled, talked to or any contact while she is having them, but can't calm herself down. Had to put her to bed while she was having one tonight, didn't know what else to do. She evntually calmed down, went to sleep and then started again half hour later. Has anybody been through this or have any ideas. My older boy could always be distracted but so far haven't found anything that works.

I keep reading that there shouldn't be a smell to the newborn's poop but we think he smells. Is something wrong. I think we are going to call our pediatrician anyway.

I have a 2 month old little girl who LOVES to have mommy and daddy's constant attention. I would LOVE to be able to play with her all day however I do have 4 other kids in my in-home daycare AND her almost 4 year old brother to care for too. She doesn't really need held but wants someone to entertain her (talk to her, shake rattles...) I have good bouncy seat that she likes but she really likes to lay on the floor...SO I was hoping someone could recommend a good activity gym for her to lay under, she really like things that light up, play music or move...does anyone know the best ones and where I can find them?

She is 3 1/2 months old and I breasfeed from 3pm - 6 am and she takes formula during the day at the sitters. This was working fine until the last few weeks she has decided to hold out and not eat during the day and wait on me. The sitter has to fight to get her to eat an ounce or two during the 8 hours I am at work. She seems to still be gaining weight fine though...

My friend just had a baby last week & she is having a hard time latching on. So when we called the dr's office the nurse said that since she needed something (since she wasn't getting enough breast milk) so she said to start pumping & feeding it to her in the bottle. Now we are concerned there will be nipple confusion. Anyone else experience this & do you think she will go back to the breast? I think her mouth is so small & she isn't taking in as much breast as she should. She is very small (like 6 lbs).

((Our last name is Svensson, so I would not want the first name to have any "s" to prevent it from sounding like a hiss as it already does. I suppose that for now I am looking for names that sound attractive and flow, and I will research their meanings some time later. Also, please suggest possible middle names that would go with the first name. Thank you all in advance for taking the time to answer.))

I want to be able to tell if shes hungry (so i don't just make a bottle and waste formula), if shes dirty, if shes tired. Can anyone help??
