I had a catheter put before and after I had my child. I am only 90 pounds. It was 2 weeks ago. I am having problems like a dull pain like something is still there especially after a warm shower. Is this normal? When I go to the bathroom it is a much bigger stream and sometimes uncomfortable. Is it normal and how long will it normally take to go back to normal? Is it safe to take a bath like that Instead of a shower?

I suggest you call your doctor and let him know that you are having pain. You should discuss this with him to make sure all is OK.

Yes ,some women especially small women have catheters in because when you push sometimes the wrong stuff comes out(dont think i need to elaborate )and having that in also prevents some pressure on your kidneys during childbirth-i had one.It was after all only two weeks ago,i would be careful it does take awhile for things to go back to normal-in my case i had stitches and couldnt take a bath for about 3weeks .Also you could have a urinary tract infection which is also very common after you have a child.Just a little advice ,but i would definetly talk to your dr.

I had a catheter too in when giving birth twice and I recieved a Urinary Tract infection because when it is removed it often scrapes inside causing irritation equalling UTI a product that might help is called URAL from the chemist over the counter

I had a catheter also. I know the bigger stream when you pee is normal, but I never experienced any discomfort. I think you should give your ob/gyn a call. Maybe you have the beginning of a UTI.

You didnt mention this catheter in your other bath question.
Please seek medical advise from your OB/GYN.

Sounds like you may have a UTI. Go to the doctors and let them know so they can give you an antibiotic.
