Sounds like your baby has a viral infection! Not a big deal but keep a really close eye on him or her. You can give him some infants tylenol to help take the edge off the uncomfortableness he is feeling. However use your best judgement. Is he playful, is he eating? Does he have really bad Diarrhea? Does he seem overly tired??

These are all things that your doctor will ask you... So call him or her if you are concerned!

Take care!

(Just an added note: a 6-7 Month old is not considered a new born and it is actually very common for a child this age to get their first cold! )

it ought to basically be a scourge of a few style. 102 is intense for teething so I doubt this is it. i might ask your medical expert yet my medical expert recommends tylenol for fevers over a hundred and one. Luke heat baths are meant to deliver down fevers the quickest. of course greater then 104 demands a doctor call. i does no longer advise you taking him to the ER because of the fact of a 102 fever. My 3 month previous had a fever and each week later she have been given an top respiration an infection. sturdy success yet i'm specific he will fantastic...babies are consistently determining on up issues from one yet another!!!

I wouldn't panic, there really is no need to take a 6 month old to the hospital for a fever unless it is over 104. Give him some tylenol, let him rest and call your dr. More than likely tylenol or some other form of fever reducer is what they will tell you to give him.

Do you have a pediatrician? If you do, give him/her a call. Are there any other symptoms? It could be ear infection, just a cold, or so many other things that it's hard to answer. You really should trust your instinct as to whether or not to take him. If you feel like he's in pain or not acting right, then take him. If you feel that he has a fever, but he doesn't seem to be affected by it much, then just watch him. Your instinct will tell you what to do because you know him best. Mothers are just made that way.

I wouldn't worry too much. Teething will cause them to run a fever, and get runny noses. You might think they are sick, but they're just teething. If he runs a fever for more than 24-48 hours strait, or it gets higher, or he develops a cough, you might want to take him to the Dr. But for now I would just make sure he is drinking lots of fluids, not milk, water or juice. When they run fevers, babies get dehydrated.

FIRST: Call the doctor's office or the consulting nurse. You may not have to bring him in but you should check. Do not go to the hospital without calling first.

Tylenol should bring the fever down and check if he can touch his neck to his chest without pain. If not, immediately get him seen.

Call your doctor. Sometimes babies' temperature rises just from cutting teeth. My neice started cutting teeth at 3 months! My sister found out because her daughter had a temperature of 101, took her to the doctor and that's what it was. Give him a tooth soother but definitely call your doctor, it could still be something else.

give him tylenol and motrin on a revolving schedule around the clock, call your pediatrician's office for dosing ammount. get a wet hand towel and hold it on the baby's neck to help him cool down, and have him drink lots of fluids. if his temp doesn't go down, take him to the hospital.

You should call the doctor let them know, and then get someone or even the doctor to call the hospital and get up there with him/her. You don't want the temp to get higher because it can cause brain damage.
