Yes. I used a bassinet with my first and a moses basket with my second. But you don't have to use either. The crib is fine. The advantage to the moses basket and the bassinet was that I could bring the baby into whichever room I was in when they were sleeping.

Sure, you can use a Moses Basket instead of a bassinet. That is what I did with our last child, and it worked very well, because then I could put him in the basket, and lay the basket against the wall, on the bed, when I napped. (Ofcourse, when he got around 4 mos. old, and began to get more active, this was no longer an option, because the basket grew a bit too small.) Although, bassinet, nor Moses Basket is really necessary. A crib would work just fine. Truth be told, a bassinet and basket is mainly used because it makes it easier to relocate from room to room during the day, or to keep the baby close to your bedside at night. Keep in mind, buying a bassinet or Moses Basket can get a little expensive, and depening on the size of your baby, he/she may not be able to comfortably use them for very long. I hope I helped.

A baby does not require a bassinet. The idea of a bassinet was created to have baby in the room with or closer to parents after birth before moving baby to its crib in its own room. You do not HAVE to make the extra expense and yes you can use a Moses if you so choose. My advice do not place it anywhere other then the floor unless you are directly looking at baby and move baby to crib within the first 2 months. Good Luck with your little one!!

merry christmas too you :) yes you can use a moses basket. LOL when I was pregnant I was given baby books that said it was out to let them sleep in a dresser drawer CRAZY HUH!!!! you can buy a bassinet but they are only good till about 8m (that what I used) but a crib will last a lot longer till like two and then can be converted into a toddler bed then a double. very useful!!!!!

yeah -- i'd keep the basket close by though. crib is okay too -- whoever mentioned the sleep positioner ahead of me had a good idea...we used one and it was great!... although i didn't use a crib or bassinet until he got older... we used the pack-n-play with the top section on next to my bed for the first couple of months.

If you want to put your baby to sleep in 20 seconds you must get the "Instant Baby Sleep" MP3 sound track. Here is their official web-site: http://www.instantbabysleep.net

The sound track gently produces energy over the full human hearing spectrum with an embedded pulse that gently eases the brain to the Alpha state well known for drowsiness and sleep induction.

Sure, why not? You can use pretty much anything where the baby can lay down comfortably, won't roll out, and has space to stretch.

Although odd, and I would never do it, an open dresser drawer is a good size. (See previous response).

you can use just his crib, but you will want to get a sleep positioner of some sort so he feels swaddled and doesnt roll into a bad position.
