My son's pediatrician said that Mylicon drops were safe to give as often as every feeding, even for a newborn. My now 7 month old had bad gas issues that were a side effect of his GERD (reflux) when he was just a few weeks old, so we used Mylicon to help relieve his discomfort and there were no adverse effects with him. It's always best to consult a nurse or doctor if you're ever unsure - especially when it comes to babies. Pediatricians are used to answering all kinds of questions from concerned parents, so you should never hesitate to ask about anything.

P.S. There were times when I called the Labor and Delivery dept. of the hospital where my son was born when I had questions after hours - they were happy to help with newborn concerns :o)

you need to contact your doctor being so young with a lot of gas and being fussy there could be more serious problems my nephew was diagnosed with acid reflux at about 3 weeks so you should be on the safe side

good luck

nope she is not too young. My doctor recommended mylicon drops (i think that is how it is spelled) right out of the hospital. It does not effect them other than making their gas come out easy. Works great and i dont think there is a limit on intake.

When feeding the baby make sure the bottle is upright so she is not drinking in air too. Also burp her more often, that will reduce the amount of gas she has.

She is too young. Lay her on a bed and gently bicycle her legs until she toots or belches. I raised two kids and this works everytime. Takes a little time but works every time.

Yeah, Mylicon drops are okay at that age -- just follow directions on the packaging. My hospital gave them to my little boy while we were still in the hospital after he was born (we were there 4 days after a c-section).

I would check with your doctor but my daughter's doctor told her she could start giving her baby Mylicon (for gas) at 1 week when they saw him for a routine exam. Good luck to you.

If your breast feeding it would help if you watched what you ate which might be causing extra gas for your baby. I would talk to your baby doctor for advise on what to do. She also may be colicy which causes the baby discomfort.

You need to call your doctor before giving your child any medication. You always want to be on the safe side.
