My daughter is almost 10 months, she's been ill for about 2 months with a condition that makes her really uncomfterble sometimes. Now for the past few weeks she crys every time I put her down. I've got 2 other little ones to tend to so I can't hold her all the time. But I do pick her up when ever I can. She immediatly calms down the second I pick her up. Am I spoiling her or just being a good mama?

My 17 month old son has had a runny nose for a couple of days now. I've tried Benedryl and Dimitabb and its not working. I can't seem to find an over the counter medicine for just a runny nose. He doesn't have a cough, fever, or chest congestion. We don't have health insurance and I can't afford a doctor now, so please don't suggest it. Any mothers out there know of any products or home remedies for my little one runny nose? Thanks.

Every December our school provides baby gifts to an organization for unwed moms. We fill stockings, but this year we want to give diaper bags with baby items to them. We have 20 staff members at Holy Family school in Citrus Heights, Ca that want to do this. Diaper bags will make it more special. How do we arrange for Similac to help us with this? We will do the filling, all we need are the bags. Do you have a contact number?

My ds is 4 months at 15lbs. I am worried that he is too small for a baby who had a birth weight of 9lbs 4oz, it's not like he is tall either; he is just within the normal length, he doesn't have those chubby arms and cute big folds. I have read on some sites that baby's weight should double by 4 months, but on other sites, it said by 6 months. I am confused. I would like to know your babies weight at birth, their length, their weight at 4 months, whether they are breastfed or bottlefed and if your babies have/had those cute chubby arms/face already by that age.

My 1 month old was just diagnosed with micropenis. I know it sounds like a joke but it is very serious and I need serious answers. Has anyone had a child or know of anyone who has had it? Can they lead normal sex lives? Is there anything that has to be done? here is a site I found about it:

I have a 2 and a half old daughter. My mother in law gives lots of unwanted advice such as giving my daughter boiled water to drink between feedings.I've already talk to my nurse who have told me not to give it to my baby because she don't need it .She also expects me to allow her to take my daughter when ever she feels like it.When my baby was only 2 weeks old she called and said she was talking her over night, to have her bag pack at 12 noon she would be over to get her. My husband and I said no and she got angry. What do I do? How can I tell her nicely to butt out?Her oldest son allows her to take his son whenever she wants. He may not have a problem with it. I do. Am I wrong? Please help what should I do? Should I of let her take my newborn? Was I right or wrong? If I was right how do I handle future situations when she calls and says she want my daughter? She has a small dog and I have seen her giving her dogs toys to her 6month old grandson to play with. They were stuffed toys.

She has two teeth coming in at the bottom, she just started teething about a week ago. And one of them is about to break through her gums. Could this be why she wakes up at 10pm, 3am, or 5am, when she has been sleeping through the night since she was three months old??? Is there anything I can do that will help? I'm losing a lot of sleep and so is she, how can I help her stay comfortable while she is sleeping?

I have no reason to believe there is any sort of abuse involved with this, but I just have to ask if it's normal. The child was not premature and weighed 7 lbs (? ounces) at birth. I casually asked the mom what percentile the baby was in and her answer was "oh, I don't remember". I DO know it's the youngest of 3 children and the first to be breastfed and I know the other 2 children were not this small. I'm sure the mom is taking this baby to the pediatrician for it's regular check ups, she's not a neglectful mother, but I can't for the life of me figure out why this baby is so tiny! It's driving me nuts. My first thought was that it's not getting it's calories in the breastmilk but there's just no casual way to bring this up to the mom. We work together in daycare. Anyone else have a child this tiny?

What is the benefit of breastfeeding or not?

2006-11-02 13:49:42 · 12 answers · asked by Anonymous

I have a good friend whom is breastfeeding her 8 week old baby. She also pumps and leaves a bottle of breastmilk for me to feed her, when she is away. When I keep the baby for the day, she drinks 11 ounces of breastmilk every 3 hours. She also does this if her dad feeds her a bottle. I know that the milk may flow faster from the bottle, but she isnt bothered by this. She keeps up, and lets go long enough to burp every 3 ounces. She is very content. She isnt gassy or fussy at all. So, this is okay, right? Also, she was drinking 4 oz. from a bottle at 1 week, and has basically added an ounce each week from there.
