Other than all the health benefits for your child already listed, the emotional bonding, helps you loose weight etc.... IT'S CHEAP and once you get the hang of it, so much easier than constantly mixing and washing bottles. Give it a good effort and you will be thankful.

The benefits of breastfeeding are it is the best nourishment for your baby with the antibodies will help keep baby from getting sick and there is a special bond between mother and baby. Also breastfeeding helps you go back to your pre pregnancy size by helping the uterus shrink. I have a 2 month old and he was my last baby I had my tubes tied 2 weeks ago I have 3 little girls and I was hoping the breastfeeding would go well with my son since he was my last but it didnt and it still bothers me he was breastfed for a month then I started having physical problems and couldnt and really upset me because he is my last baby. Breastfeeding is the best for you and baby it doesnt have to be prepared and doesnt cost a fortune. Good Luck with whatever you choose.

The biggest benefits of breastfeeding are creating an intimate bond wiht your baby from the beginning and building the babies immune system up. It has also been said that this can lower the babies chances for food allergies.

The negative side is that it isn't as easy as it sounds and is very stressful on new mothers. My daughter was great at latching and we did awesome for two weeks then I got pneumonia and it began drying me up which made it very hard and stressful until my husband told me to stop because I was so upset and we switched to formula. Formula these days is improved from back in the day and very comparable to breast milk in terms of the nutrients.

Good luck with your choice!

The length of advantages is sooo lengthy. The disadvantages of NOT breastfeeding: more illness for the child (now & later), possibly more cancer for you later.

Breastmilk provdes the exact amount of vitamins and calories for your baby. Breastmilk is easier on babys system, easier to digest and they absorb 100% of the nutrients in it, whereas formula is harder on the tiny undeveloped digestive system and there is alot of unneeded additives in formula ( perservitives etc..) that have to pass through baby so they pass most of it in thier poop. Breastfed babies also have better imune systems and tend to be better adjusted babys. Good luck with whatever you decide...

Not only does it give the baby perfect nutrition, it also provides immunity to a number of diseases while it is taking place. You don't have to mix formulas and carry bottles with you everywhere.
And believe it or not, it makes the baby smell nicer.
