It's best to give the breastmilk first and THEN if the baby needs more, offer a bottle of formula. If you were to mix breastmilk and formula into the same bottle and baby didn't finish it, you'd be throwing out your prescious milk! Let baby drink all the EBM first and then offer formula if needed to top off.

Hmm thats an unusal one! Well both kinds of milk are fine for your baby so I shouldn't see it at a nutritional problem... however, it might curdle! I'd make up 2 separate bottles instead. To test it, you could try mixing a little of each milk together in a cup to see if it mixes ok.

should not mix them. you can always replace formula but breast milk is priceless.

give your baby the breastmilk 1st. if still hungry, then follow-up with formula. at least this worked for me. i would always feel real bad when i would have to throw left over breastmilk that was left out too long but with formula, i knew there was an unlimited supply of this.

I used to do this when I didn't produce enough for my first. But I *think* most of the time I used to put them in separate bottles then when she was ready to eat I would heat and mix them. I do remember sometimes mixing them first and putting them together with no problem, no curdling. But I would first recommend mixing them when ready to consume.
