At 3 weeks old you should be feeding whenever the baby is hungry. MY little guy is 8 weeks old and eats about every 3 hours for 30 mins. When he was 3 weeks old he ate about every 90 mins. As long as your baby is gaining weight and is happy and healthy you are doing your job. If you are worried call your Doc!

A three week old is probably still about every 2 hours around the clock, at least 8-12 feedings in a day. A three week old is also probably hitting a growth spurt where it will feel like all he does is nurse for 2-3 days in a row.

You know if they are eating enough by what comes out, not by what goes it! Average of 6-8 wet diapers and 1-2 bm is usual. But every baby is different.
Nurse on demand until about 3mo old. :) Then u can schedule it with better success.

Because you can't usually measure (unless you pump it and feed from a bottle) how much a breast-fed baby is eating, this is a dilemma faced by most nursing moms. Some women worry so much about it that they stop nursing. As long as your baby is gaining weight and seems happy, he/she is doing fine. Feed when they seem hungry. Have fun!

My educated guess is around 2 ounces. Maybe 3. That's what my baby ate when I pumped and gave her a bottle.

Honestly no one can answer that! All babies are different. I am breastfeeding for the 2nd time and i coulnd't even guess how much he is eating.

The baby's tummy is about the size of their fist, so not much.

whenever he's hungry... because we can never be sure how much he's getting each time you breastfeed him... the more the better. better for the iq as well.
