I'm the youngest of 4 kids and my mom said that the redness with the bumps were only when we were teething. We NEVEr had diaper rash any other time. Get Desetin. Give him baths with Baby Aveeno Oatmeal bath...it is soothing on their bottoms.

take the little guy to go see the doctor, it may be nothing, but why risk it? It sounds like a diaper rash to me, unless you live in a hot climate, it could be prickly heat as well .. The doctor will let you know, and possibly prescribe something for his little bum. Lay him on a blanket after a bath with no diaper on for a 1/2 -1 hour and let it air out. It'll make him feel better .. and keep the rash causing urine off of his little sores. Definitely go to the doctors though, that way you know for next time, he''l be teething soon and the rashes are only going to get worse. Good luck!!

My son used to get that alot, are you breastfeeding? Did you eat something spicy last night?
The best thing that worked for my son, and now my daughter....
Start using gold bond diaper rash powder, then the next changing use A&D ointment, I have tried EVERY diaper rash cream and only A&D work!
Don't give him a bath unless you have too, it could spread the rash...
So try Switching the powder and ointment..... it will go away in a few days, if it doesn't, call the doctor, you might need a prescription cream....
Also..... don't use a rough wipe, try using soft cloth wipes, target brand is the best and its very soft! Change the diaper often to keep it dry, and if you can for like 10 minutes at a time, let him go around naked, the air is the best thing!!!!!!
Hope that helps!

I attempt and use diaper rash cream/ointment each and every time i regulate my infant's diaper. in spite of the indisputable fact that, I even have used Vaseline a pair of times just to be sure if it makes any distinction and that i found that Vaseline is in basic terms as sturdy as diaper rash cream or ointment and the better area approximately it incredibly is that it is likewise a lot extra decrease priced than diaper rash cream! How approximately that for some sturdy information? so some distance as infant powder is in contact, I even have study in somewhat one magazine at present that newborns and babies can actual inhale that stuff and doubtless choke on it. no longer sturdy! i think it rather relies upon on how a lot powder you rather use. it incredibly is a shame too using fact i bought extremely some bottles of infant powder previously my infant replaced into born.

I would try diaper rash cream and see if that helps and maybe tomorrow if it is still there and hasnt cleared up at all then I would go to the doctor ... I know how you feel about not wanting to go to the doctor for every little thing my son is a year old now and every time he was sick I'd call the doctor and I'd feel like I was calling for every little thing and the doctor told me not to worry that it's better to be safe then sorry... hope the diaper rash cream helps

It does sound like a diaper rash. If it doesn't clear up in a few days I'd give the Doc a call. I used Desitin on my little guy. Keep the rash covered with Desitin and a dry diaper. The web site below has tips and information for you. Good Luck!

Sometimes the longer that diaper is on him it will give him a rash. If hes breastfed its probly just something you ate. Just dont use creams that are too thick because it will clog the diapers ability to soak up waste. Then you will really have a problem. What helps-even if its a little meticulous-is to wash that behind in the sink or sponge clean his diaper area. Never be afraid to call the doctor for a quick check up. With him being so young, you have reason to be concerned. your doing a great job! goodluck.

If the rash is raised, it is likely a yeast rash. In order to treat it, you will need an antifungal cream or ointment. Your pediatrician will usually prescribe Nystatin. Yeast rashes are different because they can actually become worse from using a barrier cream like Desitin, since the yeast will thrive in a moist environment. Wash and soak the area in warm water, and do not use any cleansers for now. Do not use baby wipes until the rash clears, as it can aggravate it and burn. You can buy an over-the-counter anti-fungal cream, or see your pediatrician for the prescription for the Nystatin. Sometimes the over-the-counter treatmentrs are not as effective, so I would recommend seeing the doctor. Good luck, and leave baby diaperless as much as you can to keep the area very dry. I would even blowdry my baby's bums on low setting to soothe the area after washing or changes!!!

Give him a nice long bath to let him soak for a bit. Then make sure you coat him well with diaper rash lotion (Balmex and pink sauve are the best in my opinion) and every time you change him, coat him again. In a day or two it should be gone :) if it gets worse today or tomorrow call doc right away. You should notice a difference by the end of the day. good luck good mommy :)
