YES! Call your doctor immediately, or get her to the ER. Spitting up blood is very abnormal and you should take care of it asap! Good luck! I hope everything works out okay!

if you breastfeed, it could be that she is getting the blood in her system that way...i rushed my son to the emergency room when he was 4 days old for spitting up blood, after xrays and the doctors looking at his throat, the doctor said that since my son sucks very hard he could have gotten my blood or that he could have an ulcer on his throat, its always a good idea to doulble check though with your doctor.

My kids are 15 years - 24 years and I would be concerned if it happened to them. For a 6 month old, I'd probably be wigging out!! Definately warrants checking out!!!

My youngest son had that and he was diagnosed with GERD (acid reflux) The acid deteriorated his esophagus and caused it to bleed. They put him on Reglan for 6 months and he's fine now. We have to avoid him eating spicy foods and foods high in acid ( which is hard b/c he's 1/2 Italian) See a doc asap!

HELL YEAH!!! Maybe her gums might be bleeding or could be something else, but you need to get on that damn phone and call her doctor, or get her to the hospital.. babies are not supposed to be doing that. I don't care how small the situation could be, it never hurts to be precautious so get her checked out asap.

First, is she breastfeeding from cracked nipples? If so, it could be your blood.
Has she eaten anything red? It could be something that just looks like blood.
If you have answered no to the above questions, get off the computer and get her to the hospital.
