My pediatrician tells me they don't wake up at night but I totally disagree with that. My baby is teething right now and I give him Tylenol for the pain it seems to help.

Think about it. When you're in labor the doctors tell you NOT to close your eyes. Closing your eyes causes you to automatically "concentrate" more on what is happening to your body. Opening your eyes causes you to focus on other things. Hence, a child is likely to suffer more from teething and anyohter illness more at night because they have less distractions.

We all seem to suffer more at night when facing an illness. Are bodies get into a relaxed mode so that you aren't distracted as you would be during the day. This allows you to focus more on the pain whether you want to or not.

I think because at night there are less distractions to take their minds off of the pain. My daughter is teething right now...
Try some Baby Orajel, and good luck!

well i know that when i'm sick it always seems worse at night. just give your baby a frozen teething ring to suck/chew on. he'll fall asleep eventually. if he cries more than usual maybe take him to his pediatrician. ask him/her if there is any kind of medicine or anything you can do to help him get through the night. good luck. teething is only temporary!!! just remember that:)

The reason it hurts more is because when they are laying down, the nerves in their mouth are more sensitive. It's a lot like when they have an ear infection...they have more pain at night because the fluid moves and everything is more sensitive.

the idea is that they will be asleep when most of the teething occurs. I think it is a good design on God's part, if we can only get the babies to cooperate

If she's not hungry, maybe you could also check on her diapers. She could be having some discomfort or some ill feelings about it. So for free diapers and wipes, I also recommend that you go take a look at this site http://www.upkb.com/diapers.php for more info. Good luck!

Because they are all alone and there is nothing to distract them from the pain?

because when they are tired they are more sensitive to the pain. it doesn't hurt more they are just more easily agitated because they are tired and cranky.
