Mother's intuition I guess. Tonight before falling asleep she cried unconsolably for an hour. This kid never cries. I was sick all last week and now I'm taking a heavy dose of a chinese herb and breastfeeding at the same time. The herb is fine for nursing but I am taking a heavy dose, and yes, my lactation consultant approved the herb. I am so stressed I wanna cry!!! She keeps waking up & crying! Is that enough of a reason to take her to the doc? She has no other symptoms, just crying. She's 8 months old, and never does this...

The real question is not when human life begins but "what is the value of human life"?
The abortionist who reassembles the arms and legs of a tiny baby to make sure all of it's parts have been torn from it's mother body can hardly doubt whether it is a human being.

Human life-- Any living entity that has DNA form the species homo sapien.
This includes an ovum, sperm, zygote, embryo, fetus, newborn.

I have three children & breast fed them all. The first for 5 months, the second for 16 months and the 3rd for 24 months. The last being 5 years ago (he's now 7). So I am wondering since its been 5 years since I've breastfed, is it possible to relactate now? I am going to be adopting a baby in November. Please advise how long it takes to produce milk along w/pumping 5 times a day for 5 minutes per breast. I am taking 3 fenugreek pills 3 times a day. thank you

If spelled this way 'Sebastien', the name would be of French origin, but if spelled this way 'Sebastian', it would be of Greek origin. No matter if it's of greek or french origin, it means 'Venerable'. So I don't mind really which way it is spelled. But what do you think of the name?

Im a new mother, baby girl is 5 days old. I have a couple of new mommy questions
1. right now she is sleeping with me and my husband, which is fine for NOW, but when should she be sleeping in her crib? During the day I do put her in her crib so she can get used to it, but at night time she wants nothing to do with it. I have a night light in her room so it is not pitch dark..I just don't her to get to used to sleeping with us. Any Tips?
2. I am bottle feeding and I have the formula where you do not need to add water. Can she drink it cold or do I need to warm it up? Is powerder better or liquid??
3. Do you know any good bottles? I have had problems with bottles, she would suck and suck and nothing would come out and by the time something would she tired of sucking and her little tummy was full of air. I tried the Playtex VentAir and no no. Right now im using the I think Playtex DropIns? Its seems to working good but if anyone nows of a REALLY good bottle i would love to try them.

My 11 month old daughter isn't crawling and we've never been able to get her to support herself on her legs - not even as a newborn. My other daughter didn't walk until 20 months but she was defenitely crawling by 10 months. My 11 month old (Emily) is just showing no interest. I'll put her on the floor and arrange her toys around her so that she can't quite reach them (hoping she'll move) but she just gets upset and whinges and then starts playing with her belly button or whatever she can find. I often get down on the floor and try to coax her to come to me and she'll stretch her arms out but if she can't reach that way she doesn't try anything else. I'm not sure if I should be worried - especially with the standing thing - I've really tried to teach her to take her weight but it just doesn't seem to be happening. What should I do or am I just being an over worried mum? :)

My 19-month-old son has an ear infection. When his doctor looked into one of his ears, he also noticed that there was a considerable wax build-up in there as well.

I've also been concerned lately that he doesn't hear me very well, which I mentionned to the doctor. Because of all these factors, my son is being referred to an ear, throat and nose specialist. The waiting time is approximately 3 weeks and I don't want to wait that long. Should I take him to the hospital right away where I know there is a specialist at hand, or as the family doctor suggested, should I wait until my son is done his antibiotics in 2 weeks and reassess as this time.

Any thoughts?

as if she has a bit of milk stuck in her throat... She is only receiving breastmilk. What could this be? It doesn't seem to bother her. I just hear it slightly but I'm wondering if it's normal?

I have a friend who just had her baby 3 weeks ago and she told me today that her mom told her to give her 3 week old Karo syrup and water at night to "relax her and get her to sleep through the night". I have a 6 month old and told her to NEVER do that, especially to a baby so young! The only time I've ever been told to use Karo is if the child is consitpated and even then I've been told to try juice diluted with water first. Her child was also 4 weeks premature. She insists it's ok because her mom said it was and that her mom did it with all her kids. Am I right to be concerned and how can I explain to her kindly that it is not good for her infant?

You're taking a baby's life, for goodness sake! Doesn't that matter to people?
Please help me to speak out to others on this topic, because it is important. Especially if people get pregnant by accident and/or they find out they never wanted children after all. I think adoption is much better, plus lots of love.

I have just started my daughter on baby rice (although she keeps turning her nose up at it!!!!) and i was wondering if i should sterilise her bowl and spoon before each use. I have been so far but was wondering if i need to. She puts other things in her mouth, toys, etc which obviously arent sterilised.

I'm expecting in February '07 and was wondering what kind of travel systems I can fit in the trunk (if any at all!) of a new VW Beetle.

Will Babies R Us let you take the floor model out to your car to see if it fits folded up?

Thanks!

When my second baby is born, my son will be 23 months old. Do you think it's wise to get a double stroller? I'm not sure how long my son will use a stroller (he's my first and I don't know many other children-how long did your kids use one?) Thank you for your help on this! Any double stroller suggestions?

Our families have no history of any food allergies, so I decided to let my little mamma eat eggs since she's been about 8 1/2 months. She loves them, and is now 10 months and eats a small egg everyday as part of her breakfast. Are the allergies going to appear 1-2 years from now, or what? Because so far, I cannot escape a tantrum unless I fix her a scrambled egg in the morning.
