my daughter is 4.5 months old. I started giving her rice cereal about a month ago, not much just about a teaspoon or so. About 2 weeks ago, we started oatmeal cereal. She now is eating almost half a cup! Is it too early to start fruits and veggies? I tried bananas yesterday, and she got more in her tummy then she does the cereal! She still is drinking her formula (had to switch to formula at 7 weeks as a supplement because I wasn't filling her up) I've been thru this before, but can't quite remember after 8 years .... lol

My five-month old baby girl laughs a great deal and I enjoy finding things that stimulate her amusment. What has been your tried-and-true way of getting your baby to giggle?

My 6 week old is formula fed and all off a sudden she is spitting up alot more than usual. She isn't "throwing up" just alot of spit up. My mother-in-law says she is maybe becoming lactose intolerant?? I am not sure about that though. Is she maybe eating too much at one time? Am I not burping her good enough. This started on Sunday. But it is not with all bottles? Maybe it is just normal. Just seeing if anyone else is going through this or has gone through this. She does have a doctors appt scheduled pretty soon, so I will ask the doctor. I just wanted to her personal experiences first.

He recently started to crawl and get into sitting position. Whenever we put him in his crib now, he immediately sits up, rocks back and forth, and cries. It doesn't look healthy to fall asleep doubled over. I'm curious how long this could last and any ideas how to help.

I had a perfectly healthy baby girl on September 26. I had made up in my mind that I was going to breastfeed. The 2nd day i was in the hospital my nipples were HURTING. cracking, bleeding, all that. I screamed out and cried everytime I put her on. I was not getting her to latch rite so now I dont think I can breastfeed at all. Well I wanted to know if it was ok to go ahead and give her formula and shes only 7 days old. Im trying to pump but that hurts too. Of course my doctor is not going to force me to do anything i dont want to but i want to know from some actual moms who formula feed their baby and did they poop less, spit up more or whatever, somebody please help me because i have already gave her a bottle of formula and i hope that was ok

My son has had diorhea (can't spell) for the past few days and consequently has bad nappy rash now. I wash him after every dirty nappy with soap and water and leave the nappy off until he is completely dry (as you can imagine, I can't leave it for long while he has a bad tummy) and then i smother him with SudoCrem. This morning he had a very dirty nappy and when i cleaned him up i noticed that this was bleeding and stinging him when I wiped it. I am taking him to the doctors later today, but is there anything i can do for him in the meantime?

My son is going on 7 months old and i cannot get him to eat cereal or baby food. He either throws it up or gags before i put it in his mouth. And he has no teeth yet either. Any ideas on what the problem might be?

I think the 2 month old might have thrush. It seemed to develope within a day. I also have 2 more grandchildren one 15 months and one 9 months old, will they get thrush from the 2 month old.? Every once in awhile they get ahold of his bottle or pac. and put it in their mouth! Should all three be treated?

I have a question. I'm 6 months pregnant and my husband and I currently live in a small 1 bedroom apartment. We plan to buy our first house together hopefully before our son's first birthday. So we have thought about just buying a pack n play and having him sleep in the bassinet until about 3 mo and then moving him to the bottom part until we move into a house where he'll have a crib.

I know that a pack n play is for sleeping and stuff but I was wondering if there are any safety issues to using it as his full time bed until about 12mo?

Could having him that low to the floor all night have any risk of SIDS? I dont know why it just sounds like it could to me. Or because it's not airflow like the bars in a crib? I'm going to end up being one of those very paranoid parents with a newborn so I'm trying to asure myself that it will be ok. We really have no room at all for a crib right now.

I know I probably sound paranoid and silly but I just want what is going to be best for my son

She is 14lbs at the moment and eats 4 ounces every 3 hours. I have talked to the pediatrician and he says it's ok...but I still want her to gain more weight. Please respond only if you have some advice on how to help her gain weight.
