that they really need to be asking their doctors instead of a bunch of fellow yahooers?

Sorry, I am just sick of people looking for attention and sympathy. It is sad that these people are raising children. I have no pity and yes I have children. If there is a medical issue, I consult a medical professional. You whiners are only wanting someone else to swim in your pity pool.

It seems that a lot of you do not get it. LOL You know what stupid questions I am talking about. If you don't trust your doctor then get a 2nd opinion from another doctor.

As far as relating experiences while pregnant, this is a good place to go, but when it turns medical, that's what your ob-gyn is for

I answered a question once (several months ago) where the man said something to the effect of "My 15 month old daughter is running a very high fever, and for the last several hours she's just been walking around in circles in her room crying and hitting her head. What should I do?" I know by the way he worded this question and the previous questions he had posted that it was legitimate.

I think a good deal of the time, the parents who do ask these questions already have put in a call to the doctor and are awaiting a return call, so they're killing time, getting advice from other moms and dads out here. Then, there ARE the completely moronic people who really shouldn't be having children who would get online before calling a licensed physician or qualified pharmacist. I prefer to think that most people are just killing time waiting for a call back from the doctor. I have a sickening feeling I'm wrong though.

Well I just got on here for the first time and I think it's great to get other peoples opinions about things it makes people feel that they are not alone. Not all the questions are medical and doctors know the textbook answers and others are answering from life experience.

Just because we are a bunch of fellow yahooers does not mean our answers should not be heard ...I think the reason most of the questions are asked of mothers and pregnant females is because most of us are either looking for someone who feels the same way we as parents do and to break the tension. I mean if someone is pregnant and they are spotting (they all ready know that this is not a good thing ) I think they ask just o have someone tell them everything is going to be okay that it is normal in early pregnancy.i just think it helps to feel you have someone standing behind you no matter what the question is .

Clearly you have no friends or confidants and do not understand the female way of dealing with life in general.
We have always depended on our family and friends for answers. Most of us would not bother a busy medical expert with everyday questions that can be answered by people who have been through it.
Most of the time we just want and need a different perspective on things.
We are not giving medical advice
You clearly do not understand the concept of giving and getting advice.

What may be stupid to you may not be stupid to them. Sometimes people like to hear opinions of other mothers. Yes serious medical issues need to be addressed with the doctor. However sometimes asking a question is a way of sharing or venting to others.

And remember if you dont like the question you dont have to answer.

While Drs are highly educated - they don't know everything. And lots of times, people have male Drs who really dont' know much more about pregnancy than they've read from a textbook! I think it's neat to come here and get advice from others who have already gone through the things you're wondering about. I love this board!

I think your id name explains why you posted your question! I believe these women need support and experience from other women. I know I have talked to my doctor, but I know my doctor has never had a micarriage. No matter how much medical knowledge he has, he is a man and can't experience pregnancy or a miscarriage. Maybe you should be more understanding.

Sometimes the women have already called their doctor and are waiting to hear back. In the meantime they are driving them selves nuts, so they ask people online for their experiences. It can be very comforting. And it's a way to pass the time until they hear from their own doctor.

People are on here for advice. They are on here for support/advice in any given situation. I have never seen a life threatening question such as "my child is choking, what do I do?" Let's face it, doctors are human and sometimes they give out horrible advice. It is reassuring to me to know that I have a place to go to make sure I am doing things right.

What are you doing on here? What are you so angry about?

Your reply of pasta developing on bushes was once honestly an april idiot funny story within the Nineteen Seventies implemented via the BBC and plenty of individuals fell for it. The stupidest query I ever requested was once ... Will you marry me?
