My wife refrigerated her breast milk last night. She took out her breast milk from the refrigerator at 12 pm and did not refrigerate it since. How many hours can breast milk go unrefrigerated before it is considered spoiled??

i have heard of storing breastmilk in the fridge for working moms and even considering it. mother in law told me that it would give diarrhea to my baby. is this true? found lots of milk storage bags and pumps on the net.

My 9 month old daughter does not want to be in her highchair or playpen anymore. She wants to crawl around the whole house exploring. But should I spend my day following her around when she is not napping or sleeping? Or should I teach her to sit in the highchair and playpen even if she is screaming her head off?

My little one is about to turn 4 months, I usually feed off the breasts, then pump and freeze extra bottles for trips to grandma's. But it seems like I only make enough to feed her and nothing more. Maybe she's going through another growth spurt, but it seems like I can't get my extra supply back up the way I used to.

When is the best time to pump extra milk?
Or, maybe I should ask a doc about medication to increase my supply?
What are your experiences?

i started breastfeeding my baby when he was 9 days old because he was not able to eat formula then at 12 days he started having dirty diapers at every diaper change and he will be 3 weeks tomorrow and this is still going on. the dr toldme that he would have a lot of dirty diapers so dont worry but it still worries me because he has anywhere from 10 to20 dirty diapers a day...is this normal for breastfed babies

My son hardly sleeps during the day and wakes up about every one to two hours at night. He used to sleep through the night. Do you think he might be teething still. I have also started giving him a pacifier and when I give him his pacifier he goes right to sleep. I'm also wondering if I should start sleeping in the same room with him and see if this helps.

I think this is a no brainer, but this is my first baby. She's nearly a year old. She's been basically only breastfed and we're about to make the transition to milk. She doesn't really care for juice much, (or at least she didn't a few months ago when I last tried to give her some diluted apple juice.)

Her Dad and I drink skim milk. Everything I read says babies MUST have whole / homogenized milk until they are 3 or 4 years old. I'll certainly be following that direction. We'll have both at home.

But... let's say we run out of HER milk, or we're at a friend's place, or we sponaneously decide to go to a restaurant and I can't get home to bring her some "ideal" whole milk (sure I could stop at a grocery store first, but seriously who'd really do that on the way to lunch???)

My question then is: Occasionally, is whatever milk is available (skim, 1%, 2%) an okay choice ?

What would you pick?

a. skim, 1%, or 2% milk?
b. water?
c. juice?
d. soft drinks?

Thanks!
