i breastfed my son from the time he was 4 days old to the time he was three months. i have to day that in a day there were twice as many dirty diapers during breastfeeding than with formula. i was told the iron in the formula slows down their poop schedule. then again, many foods you consume while you breastfeed can cause the baby to have diarrhea and/or gas. hope this helps.

Since your baby had a problem and you started breastfeeding later than usual, this is a question for the pediatrician. Your experience with your baby is likely to be a little different, and the type of "one-answer-fits-all" advice you get here is probably not going to be correct for you. Meanwhile, be cautious but don't panic. There is a wide range of "normal" at this tiny age. All the best to you and baby.

after a feww days this will slow down. My 4 month old had a lot of soiled diapers at first, but now... she only has them maybe once or twice a week. This is also common in breastfed babies.

Yes, you can expect to have a lot of dirty diapers when breastfeeding. It's a normal thing.

It's healthy. Honestly the average human is constipated, you should have 2 to 3 bowel movements daily with soft stools. Most people do not. Do not think something is wrong with your baby for having a normal bowel schedule.

yeah that's normal... the number will go down as they go older. And they won't be solid either until he starts to eat solid food.
