You can do the high fiber diet, low sugar and 30 minutes of aerobics a day.
I lost about 30 lbs in 2 months doing this while nursing.
Nursing it's self will help to loose the weight too!
Foods high in fiber;
Pop corn, soy, fiber cereals, whole wheat, lettuce and apples.
There's a lot more but I forget now that it's been a while since I was on the diet.
Good luck!

No. You shouldn't diet at all when breastfeeding. In fact, your body needs 300 EXTRA calories per day to continue producing milk. Just by breastfeeding, your body will begin to shed some pounds but you may reach a plateau after a while and you'll just have to hang in there until you're finished breast feeding. In the meantime, try to ensure you're making smart choices in the food you eat. If your body still has weight to lose then it will do so while you're eating healthy without your needing to diet. I know how you feel. I lost a ton of weight when I started breastfeeding and then it the weightloss just stopped. I waited until my little one was ready to quit the breastmilk and then went on the Cambridge Diet to lose the last of the baby weight in a healthy way.

Nursing with take 200-300 cals a day depending on amount you produce. If you want to lose weight pump more between feedings and those cals are out of your body.
You need to walk also, to help the bones in your hips strenghten.

See the link below.
Don't start any attempt at weight loss until after the first 6 weeks, at least. Gradual weight loss is best. Remember it took 9 mos to put it on....it can easily take 9 mos to take it off.

Just start yourself on a healthy lifestyle. Lots of fruit and vegetables. No junk food. Try eating something small every couple of hours instead of huge meals 3 times a day. Lots and lots of water. Try taking the baby for a walk, even if it's just around the mall it will be extra exercise.

Because your body needs a lot of calories while you are breastfeeding its not a good idea to "diet"
While you are breastfeeding its a good idea to eat really healthy. If you cut out and junk, fast, and sugary foods you will probably loose weight, keep your calories and feel good.

Don't worry about dieting right now. Your body will naturally shed much of yout pregnancy weight...especially if you're breastfeeding. Get plenty of exercise and drink LOTS of water.

Just cut down calories slightly. Breastfeeding uses quite a lot of calories so best not to cut down too much otherwise it could affect your supply.
