I use the Medela Harmony. It is a single manual pump, at it works great. I would honestly stick with any of the Medela pumps. They research everything they need to know for this, and I think that they are the best brand out there. More hospitals recomend them & give them to patients. If you still aren't sure, you can always get in contact with the La Leche League (LLL), or your local lactation consultant. You can even do a search on Yahoo for them in your area. I am a new mom, and I am so thankful for our lacation consultant from the visiting nurses association, which is another place you can look for a lactation consultant. If you go to Medela's website, they have great resources and tips.

I used the Medela pump in style. It is expensive but if you're going to pump exclusively like I did it is worth every penny. If you're going to pump just on occasion get something less expensive. But another option is to rent one from a medical supply store. I know that I wasn't sure if I could breastfeed/pump before I had my son. So I didn't want to spend that kind of money and waste it. So I rented and then when I found out that I was a milk maid I went ahead and got one.

I used a Avent Naturally hand pump. It sucked plenty hard and was faster than the electric medela ones i tried. The pump and accessory kit together were about $60.00 You can pick one up at target or walmart. Be sure to get lots of breast cream, pumping and nursing can dry your nipples out to the point of bleeding! Happy pumping!

I love my Avent Isis, its a manual but I get more from it than any electric I tried. It was 50, but they have an awsome kit for 60 or a huge kit with bottles for around 100. they have an electric version too but I'm not sure of the price on it.

Ameda Purely Yours is awesome! I bought mine three years ago while pregnant with my third babe and I'm using it now with my fourth. I like it cus I can control and vary the speed and suction without my nipples feeling like they're being sucked off. And this one comes with the car plug in, which made visiting the family 16 hrs away way easier - I'd pump while we drove and feed him as we drove, we weren't stopping every three hrs for him to eat.
