My four month old has a loose flesh lump as in a wrinkle, on the back of neck since birth , it doesnt seems to be painful to my kid but seems like it grows a little during the day.

It can be categorised as a wrinkle on the back half periphery of the neck, rather than a localisd lump. Thanks

Doctor has advised for an MRI Scan, but the scan would involve oral sedation or anaesthesia, is it safe for four month old.

weird, get it checked at the next appointment, should be soon if you have not already gone, 4 months is the time for shots!

I had one of those loose flesh lumps when I was little too. But my mom didn't notice it till I was 8! Part of the reason for her ignorance was because my loose flesh lump was located inconspicuously under my right armpit. But it got bigger and bigger as I got older and my mum suggested removing it. It was a traumatic experience because I was too young to grapple the meaning of a surgery, yet I was old enough to realise that a surgery was going to feel 'painful'. Eventually, my mum RIPPED the loose flesh lump out when I was sleeping...I was nine! But it didn't hurt a bit.
I would suggest you bring your child to get the lump surgically removed rather than wait till your child is older to experience the same emotional trauma that I went through! Besides, I don't think you'd be daring enough to RIP the lump out with your bare hands like my mum!

When my daughter was born she had three skin tags (I think that this is what your baby has) on the side of her face before she left the hospital the doctor tied a string around them and they fell off. Ask your pediatrition it's a simple solution.

Don't take chances with your baby! While every ones advice is well meaning, you should ask your doctor when it concerns something of that nature and especially when it concerns your baby!

Ask your doctor about it. It may or may not be any kind of problem, but it's best to get an expert opinion.
