She may just not be ready to start crawling or walking yet. Just give her time. You could try getting her a walker and see what that does and also try getting her a "Johnny Jumper". In case you don't know what that is, it is a jumper that you hang off the panel on your ceiling and put your child in it. They should be able to touch the floor with their feet and after a while they will begin to jump by themselves, which will help her support herself with her legs better. Also, try laying her down on the floor on her belly and putting her favorite toy in front of her, shen she goes to grab it move it back farther. She should then move towards it. It should help.

Some kids NEVER crawl, so I wouldn't worry about that.
But I do agree with a previous poster: what does she normally do with her legs? Does she kick and move them around? If she does, but she's not interested in standing or crawling, it's probably not a big deal. (My older daughter didn't walk until 15 months, and she never exactly "crawled," although she did get around in her own way. Can't remember when she started that, though...)
If she never uses her legs, that's definitely worth a call to the doctor. And you should bring up all your concerns, anyway, at her 12 month checkup.
A johnny jump-up is safe IF you have the right doorways. And an exersaucer can be great. But don't put your baby in a walker--they're dangerous!

As far as not crawling at 11 mths, no you shouldnt be worried at all. Some babies never crawl at all, they go straight to walking. Hmm, not being able to support her weight though might be indicative of something.... You've already talked to the pediatrician about this, right? If not, do. If so, they probably said it's fine, so don't worry! You're doing exactly what you should, trying to coax her with toys and such during playtime. She'll get there eventually.

Have you tried to use a Johnny Jump Up or one of those jumperoo centers for Emily? Maybe it would help strengthen her legs and also make her more interested to try. My daughter is only six months and not quite that old yet but my advice would be : if your really concerned and you've done your absolute best to try and get Emily's interest to move around and it hasn't worked then talk to her pediatrician about it!
Or even if you have a friend or know someone who is a MD then don't hesitate to ask. It will definitely ease your worries but it sounds to me like since your first child was slow to move around then its the same with this one too. Also sometimes if babies get carried a lot by other family members it can delay their interest to attempt something new. Maybe just keep asking yourself what could the reason be? and you'll be just fine. God bless you and little Emily.

Does she move her legs alot normally? Or does she usually keep them still? If she normally moves her legs (kicking and playing) then wouldn't worry until the doc does. I have a 2 year old (as of 2 days ago) who didn't start talking until about 1 month ago. Then all the sudden, he won't be quiet..LOL. If she moves her legs, ruling out some sort of spinal cord injury, nerve damage or muscle problems, I would not worry. Make sure at your daughters next doctors appointment you bring that up and go from there! Good luck hon!!
P.S. I don't think there is such thing as an over worried mom!

I cant believe that your first daughter did not walk until 20 months. That seems very late to me. Luckily my son walked by the time he was ten months. It was all up to him, I just let him do his thing. Sometimes all you can do is wait.
I assume that they are both very healthy and the dr has been asked about this situation. Are you daughters overweight? It could be more difficult for her to move if she weighs more than she should. It seems like she would just rather be lazy and lay there (I dont mean that in a bad way). Some babies are just not interested in walking. I would do some exercises with her a few times daily and see if that helps.
If you havent talked to your dr do so asap.

Get her a walker (one with wheels that goes where she goes) so she can strengthen her legs and get used to walking. She definitely is behind if she isn't even crawling yet because some kids are walking by 10 or 11 months. Just keep practicing..good luck!

Hey , I think the best thing to do is call your pediatrician about this. Because really she should be crawling by now. Is your daughter overweight? Because overweight babies have issues being able to hold themselves up due to the weight problem. So , I hope that their is nothing wrong with your baby. God Bless Emily and hope all is well with her. She will get it soon just have hope, faith ,love and patience with her.

Have you tried putting her in an excersaucer? My son 's leg muscles got so much bigger within a week or two as soon as we got him in it. It's helped so much with his balance and standing. If you haven't tried it yet, I'd definitely give it a whirl.
