I have three children & breast fed them all. The first for 5 months, the second for 16 months and the 3rd for 24 months. The last being 5 years ago (he's now 7). So I am wondering since its been 5 years since I've breastfed, is it possible to relactate now? I am going to be adopting a baby in November. Please advise how long it takes to produce milk along w/pumping 5 times a day for 5 minutes per breast. I am taking 3 fenugreek pills 3 times a day. thank you

YES! Relactation is definately possible, though some adoptive moms can't gain a full supply. In addition to herbs proven to increase milk supply like fenugreek, you can also get prescription drugs such as domperidone and reglan, both of which have been proven to increase milk supply and are both quite safe and effective. Check out the Kellymom links for other tips on relactation, and you might also want to join an online community like Mothering.com, where there are other mothers who have breastfed their adoptive babies. Wow Mamma! You have quite the track record! Good for you :)
It's wonderful that you are wanting to re-lactate for your new adoptee. Many mothers have been able to accomplish this, even mothers that have never breastfed or even been pregnant!
I suggest you contact your local La Leche League as they have many books and resources on the subject. I might also look into finding a Lactation Consultant in your area.
Another great resource is "MotheringDotCommune Forums".
You can float around or become a member and post your own questions. They have a forum specifically for adoptive nursing. They are a natural family community and have bountiful resources on many subjects.

I wish you all the best on your journey...happy nursing vibes your way :)

*oh yeah, everything you're doing now is wonderful ( taking fenugreek, pumping etc. ) keep it up. Domeperdone may also help build a supply. Once your baby arrives, you can always use a "Supplemental Nursing System" until your supply reaches its full velocity.

Fenugreek should definitely help. I've never tried to relactate, but kudos to you for giving such a wonderful gift to your new baby! He or she is blessed to find a mama willing to go all out like that.

Check out the discussion boards at mothering.com for great info and advice on relactating.
