When my second baby is born, my son will be 23 months old. Do you think it's wise to get a double stroller? I'm not sure how long my son will use a stroller (he's my first and I don't know many other children-how long did your kids use one?) Thank you for your help on this! Any double stroller suggestions?

My oldest son is 3 and I have a double stroller. It really depends on your child. How does your son act in public. Does he hold your hand or does he tend to run off. I know my son will run like the wind if he wasn't in the stroller.

Stroller suggestion: Peg Perego Aria twin. It is lightweight and worth every penny. I love it.

My daughter was 16 mos when my son was born and I bought a double stroller. I live in Costa Rica and walk everywhere I go....My daughter is now 23 mos and prefers to walk part of the time but then she gets tired and wants to ride. I have the mountain buggy urban double. But if I lived in the US I would probably get a caboose by www.joovy.com.

Many strollers can be used from newborn on, some cannot. In the beginning I carried my son in the baby bjorn and simpy pushed my daughter in her maclaren. But now he's 21 lbs and 7 mos so they both ride in the stroller.

If your son is used to sitting in a stroller I would recommend one. Your now going to have 2 children to keep after and if your son decides its play time your going to find yourself chasing him around. There are two types of double strollers. There is a piggy back or side by side style. These have two seats that recline and have seat belts. There is also a sit/stand double stroller where the back seat has a place for an older child that still needs a place to sit or he/she can stand. It has a seat belt and give the older child a chance to rest on long walks. I use sit/stand double with my children. I think they are great.
Good Luck

Get what they call a "sit and stand" stroller. They have a front seat for little ones and a place in the back that the older child can either sit or stand. One Step Ahead has one for about $150 that works with most infant car seats and has a one hand folding method. They also have an attachment sit and stand thing that hooks safely to your existing stroller. It has the same basic concept and it folds up out of the way if your oldest is not using it.

yes get one.my daughter is almost 2 years old and my son is 7 months.don't get a side-by-side stroller cause there too much hassel getting into door ways.some times i use the double stroller with my 7 month old and my 4 year old.when you do get one check the weight.put the baby in the back of the stroller and the toddler in the front.you can also get a sit and stand stroller.the babies in the stoller it's self(of course)and the older child can sit or stand in the back.if you have a Sears around you check them out they have those kind but if you need cheap go to walmart or keep your eye out in the buy and sell where you can but second hand items.

I have three sons. I have owned several double strollers. The only reason I don't have one now is because my oldest sons are way over the weight limit. I loved them. I had the stadium seating stroller (not side by side seating) and it steered good and was relatively light weight. Even at 2 years old, your son will still ride in a stroller when you go to the mall, or even amusement parks. Not only will it give him a place to nap and relax while you push but it will keep him confined while you are out. He won't be tempted to run everywhere. I would absolutely buy one. I had Graco's, they have storage underneath for diaper bags, shopping bags, etc and some now even have drink holders though mine didn't. I highly recommend them.

The side by side I absolutely will NOT recommend. They are hard to drive, take up too much space, and you can't maneuver them in shopping aisles because they are too wide.

Good luck!!

No doubt about it you need a double stroller!!!! Little legs get tired easy and little brothers get very jealous of baby getting to ride. Because even if your son is big enough to walk he prob still enjoys riding in the stroller. Trust me I was against the double at first but it has become a must have.

I am in the same boat as you are. I have a 3 year old and a son
( Cody) due in Jan. I have decide that I want to get a side by side jogging stroller. That way both of my kids can be in it. We are in the pet industry, so we go to a lot of trade shows. I also love to walk in the mall too. So, I would go for it! I know that the IN Step strollers have a 100 lbs. weight limit. So that they can last for a while! Good luck and congrats!

My older son is 2 1/2 and he still loves his stroller. His little brother is 15 months. We have to put my older son in the stroller or else he'll take off and be out in the parking lot/disappeared before we can blink!

I don't have two kids that close but my daughter was out of a stroller at two because she loves to walk, but I say a double for the mall walks or the Zoo some place that you will walk alot, if not walking alot then you can get a child leash I know that sounds harsh for a child but at Target they make really cute ones that look like back packs with animals.
