Our families have no history of any food allergies, so I decided to let my little mamma eat eggs since she's been about 8 1/2 months. She loves them, and is now 10 months and eats a small egg everyday as part of her breakfast. Are the allergies going to appear 1-2 years from now, or what? Because so far, I cannot escape a tantrum unless I fix her a scrambled egg in the morning.

All the "I'm a bad mommy comments", please foward them to:

It honestly depends on the child and genetics. Myself and my siblings were all fed eggs (although my Mom waited until a year old because there is a risk of illness I believe due to salmonella with the egg whites) for breakfast at around a year. My sister and I have developed an egg allergy now that we are adults. We are also allergic to all dairy products (not intolerant...allergic..we get very sick) My brother on the other hand does not have any of these problems. That's why I said it's a genetic crap-shoot unfortunately.

My son also adores eggs for breakfast (lunch and dinner if he could get them!) and we started him on them around 1 year. He may be fine, or he may develop an allergy. We shall wait and see. I'm also allergic to Penicillan; he is not.

Good luck and don't stress about it. If she's eating, that's the important part!

It's obviously feasible that your baby is allergic to egg and that the response took 12 hours to exhibit up. That's now not very lengthy while you are speakme an allergy to some thing that used to be ingested. It can truthfully take days for a meals hypersensitive reaction response to exhibit up. That's why it is encouraged that you just wait three to four days among attempting new meals. The handiest unusual factor is that mostly the response does not arise after just one publicity. She might have needed to be uncovered to eggs earlier than to even produce an allergy. This would had been via breast milk and even potentially in utero. But, mostly allergy symptoms do not increase till any one has had a brand new meals a minimum of two times. I additionally agree that this is a very unusual request that your medical professional has made for you to take a look at eggs at residence to look if the child shall be allergic to the MMR shot. I've on no account heard of someone doing that earlier than. MMR mostly is not given till a minimum of yr both.

If she isn't showing any reactions then she should be fine. At around 9 months my ped said I could give my son egg yellows, but not the whites till he was a year. I know how you feel my son LOVES eggs. He is now almost 13 months so he can have the whole egg. Just the whites contain allergens and should be avoided till a year of age after the allergy test is preformed.

since she is not showing up any reaction then i dont think she is having egg allergy. usually the reaction shows up within minutes or a day or two. if she is ok, then i think she's fine & out of allergy.
my baby has egg allergy. the first time i gave her she had a reaction within minutes. her eyes became puffy, redness all over the face & ears. & it was very severe. so the doc aske me to cut down on all egg products like cakes, cookies etc.

thank god that ur baby is not having allergies.

Is she showing any allergic reaction? You didn't mention that.
I think you can become allergic to something at anytime, but if she isn't having any reaction to it now you are probably safe.
And if she is maybe you can trick her with egg substitute, I don't know if it has any real eggs in it or not.
