I've been freezing pieces of banana, avocado and recently grapes for my 11-month old. I buy them fresh, cut them up and give them to her fresh for the first couple days, but when they start getting a bit too over ripe/soft I freeze the remainder of them.
She loves them frozen as much as fresh, but every time I bring them to my Mom's place my Mom doesn't really like feeding them to her because they are often mushy & watery when they defrost. (Seems to me a toothless baby might actually prefer this.)
Sure they are a bit more messy (which seems to be the underlying complaint) but my Mom says she's more concerned that they lose all their nutritional value from freezing.
Many people seem to freeze fruits and put them in mesh feeders for teething so I don't suspect there's a problem with this... my daughter never really got the hang of a mesh feeder, but that's not the point, are frozen fruits nutritionally okay?
Also, what other fruits do you freeze for your babies?
Thanks
