Go and see your doctor if you are having concerns! As to your Q - yes a baby can survive if born this early. A baby CAN survive if born from 24weeks - although this requires an amazing amount of medical intervention and can result in many medical problems. 30weeks is a good milestone - if a pregnancy lasts to 30 weeks many of the problems associated with premature births subside. There are also a number of things that a hospital will do to delay impending labour and delivery. I've heard of someone going into labour @ 30 weeks and the hospital managing to delay things until full term - but you MUST see your doctor.

Well, I am not a woman. However, my cousins (twins) were born at 21 weeks. They both had many problem, lungs werent fully developed etc.. They suffered through heart surgery and many other problems. However today they are in their teens and just fine. About 39% of babies born under 25 weeks survive. I think 28 weeks is enough development for the baby.

Most mothers are alarmists when they are pregnant, and it is for good reason but not always the best for the baby if you really worry about these things. I suggest you go to your doctor if you are having a lot of discharge, as this could be amniotic fluid (you can carry a full term baby with your amniotic sac punctured). Typically it is the sharp pains, bloody discharge, or continuous contractions that are problematic.

My pre-pregnancy BMI was borderline underweight, and I gained 35 lbs. I lost 15 right after birth and then gained 10 in the next 6 months or so. Breastfeeding the entire time. When my daughter was 7 1/2 months I joined Weight Watchers and started a program for nursing moms. I just couldn't stand being like that. I have been steadily losing weight for the last 3 weeks, and I think there's still hope for me, lol. So, just so you know, breastfeeding does not bring weight loss on every woman. My daughter is now over 8 months old and I still have to lose 20 lbs. Still breastfeeding.

A friend have birth 16 weeks early. While there were some complications (they had to boost his lungs with steroids) he survived quite well. He's now a happy healthy 18 month old.

Go get checked out. that's the only way to know for sure what's happening. Good luck.

My g/f gave birth at 28 weeks to triplets. Everything was fine!!! 50 years ago, it would have been different. Keep in mind, they won't release the baby from the hospital until he/she is about 4 lbs or so and when they are completely out of danger. GOOD LUCK ...... you'll do just fine.

yes and many babies can live at 28 weeks the baby just hasn't had full time to develope lungs ect.. which may mean an extra long stay in the hospital for the little one and it can cause the baby to be extra tiny but that doesn't mean they can't save it todays medicine we are so lucky and the chances are far greater than they use to be
