My mother in law told me to do this. All his family did it so I did too. I think it really helped. My stomach was back to normal in 5-6 weeks. My husband is hispanic and all most all the women do it.

I've heard of this, and half-heartedly gave it a try. I had an emergency c-section due to preempclampsia. Had managed to gain almost 20lbs of water weight in less than 3 days!!! After the surgery I wore (for lack of a better name) a girdle type thing that held my stomach in. But I didn't do it for looks, and not for one instant did I believe it'd 'bring my stomach in'. I did it because when I sneezed or laughed or moved the wrong way I felt like my stomach was going to fall to pieces. The girlde gave it that much needed support, same effect as holding a pillow there etc but not as awkward.
As for previous posters' comments about it reducing signs of stretchmarks... who knows? everyone's skin will be different. I know mine have already faded dramatically and are barely noticeable, but I also have a darker skin tone.

It is called "belly binding" Yes I have heard of it, no it doesn't work. After pregnancy the abdominal muscles have been stretched and need to be EXERCISED to tighten back up. Binding the belly is only good for the duration of the binding, once the girdle/binder comes off it's out there again...envision an older woman who "normally" wears a d cup bra wearing a b cup bra and then taking it off. That's about what the belly will be with a "belly binder".

I've never heard of that. But if you chose to nurse your baby you will lose the weight faster. Nursing stimulates your uterus causing it to return to it's normal size faster. I have 2 boys and no stomach, not even a lil pooch.
Good luck!!!!

There is something you can wear, but it's mostly for right after you have the baby. Mainly women who've had c-sections wear them. They are designed to give your stomach support so you aren't so uncomfortable. It doesn't provide you with stomach shrinkage, unfortunatley. But then again, maybe mine just didn't work! :)

Try transverse exercises. It worked for my sister. She also took Weight Loss/Hoodia sample to trim down those extra pounds. She learned all about it from this site http://www.upkb.com/weightloss.php
