You have to make sure you are drinking a lot of water and eating protein and lots of veggies. Remember you have to drink enough fluids for you and baby. Try to avoid caffeine too.

The number one way to establish and maintain supply is to nurse and/or pump frequently. How often are you nursing and pumping each day? How long? How old is your baby? Why do you feel you have a supply problem? (Sometimes moms think it's a supply problem when it's really something else. See the link on low supply below.) Keep in mind that no pump is as good at getting the milk out as your baby, so pumping is NOT a good way to judge supply.
Breastfeeding management is ALWAYS the first thing to look at. Are you nursing often enough? Long enough? Is baby latched on properly?
Some moms find that eating oatmeal every day helps boost their supply. Eating tuna and drinking dark beer are two other things that have been reported by some mothers to have an affect on their supply.
There is an herbal supplement called fenugreek that can be very helpful. (Again...if you aren't nursing enough or latch isn't good...that's the first route to explore!) The normal dosage for fenugreek is 3-4 capsules taken 3 times per day. You'll know you're taking enough if you begin to smell like maple syrup. CAUTION: there are some people who should NOT take fenugreek! Be sure to read the link below to see if you are OK to take it or not.

I had the same problem. I read up and was told my my OB about Reglan its a pill typically perscribed for stomach acid problems that has a strange side effect in women it increases milk production. I doubled in a 1 1/2 days and 2 1/2 times 3 days later. 10 mg 4 times per day. It worked for me for 3 months. I tried the fennugreek and fennel seed and mothers milk, with not much assistance however of the above three the mothers milk tea helped the most. Hope that this helps!

Doesn't sound the brightest idea there, Eric!! Yes, let's drink a beer then breastfeed the baby...hmm...didn't read the article on it and don't plan to....but I think I'd immediately pass on that one!
Anyways, I wish I'd known about the herbs you can talk to help aid milk production...didn't know there even was such things!! If you could see an herb specialist, it is recommended, but here is a listing of what can help.
Mother's Milk Tea
You can buy this in many stores. It contains fennel seeds, fenugreek seeds, coriander seeds, spearmint, lemongrass, borage leaves and blessed thistle leaves.
Fenugreek
A very popular herb for milk production, usually taken in capsule form, or as a tea. Capsules will provide a more consistent dosage than a tea. Mothers who take fenugreek will often notice an increase in milk production within 24 to 72 hours after starting to take it.
Brewers Yeast
Rich in protein, iron and B vitamins, brewers yeast has been reported to boost the milk supply and energy level of breastfeeding mothers. It is generally recommended that mothers start out with one tablespoon of the powder per day.
Anise Seed
Tea made with anise seeds can also can be drunk by breastfeeding mothers to help relieve colic in their breastfed baby.
Fennel Seed
Fennel is traditionally used to increase milk supply.
Other teas
You should be able to find these teas in health food stores: Marshmallow, Blessed Thistle or Red Rasberry.

OK this is going to sound strange but if you drink a beer "only one", lol.. It can even be a non-alcoholic beer a couple of hours before you try their is a study where it does work.. The first link will give you all the info " just so you don't think that I'm on crack "
Hum married 2 MrBrit1, As you stated you did not read the study. I also state a non-alcoholic beer. I did not tell her to consume a whole KEG !!! So maybe before you bash me you should see where I got my info from. I even posted a new link #3 that has more info. But then again I guess that it is easier to criticize than to do research...
