Hello,
Maybe in some cases, but no my twins were born @ 32 weeks, the 7th month, and they were in the NICU for only two weeks. They were thriving and had no need to stay any longer.
Hope this helps you...................... :-)

You mean how long the baby would have to stay? If it is born only 4 weeks early it would probably be discharged after a normal stay -- 1 or 2 days. A lot would depend on the baby's health following delivery, of course. If the baby is breathing fine on its own and feeding normally you will most likely be able to bring it home immediately.

You do not have to stay in the hospital more than 2 days if it is a normal delivery.
Baby will have to stay if he is low birth weight and not eating or having problems. Not neccesarily a month though- just until baby is capeable of surviving at home.
I had my first daughter at 32 weeks... 8 weeks early (2 mos) and they kept her for a month after her birth date because that is how long it took her to get big enough and healthy enough to come home. I left though after two days.

A hospital will discharge you both once you are both healthy and doing well - if born early - they may need to keep baby in for observation - but if all is well they'll discharge after a few days. I know of someone who gave birth @ 36weeks and came home with baby after 2 days - baby and mum were both doing well - so there's no point keeping them in! It really does depend on the baby.

My daughter was 1 month early and I had to stay in for 7 days. I think it all depends on how well the baby is .

Not true......I had my son at 35.5 weeks and we both was in the hospital for 3 days. I had a c-section done and my son was born healthy and he weighed 4lbs, 15.6oz & 17 inches long...
You might have to stay in the hospital longer if something is wrong with you or your baby but if everything went well no not a month.

The baby would have to stay in the hospital until the doctor says it is okay for him/her to go home. Premature babies need to be 5 pounds or more, and show good vital signs (breathing, eating, good suction.) BUt the mom doesnt have to stay in the hospital. Normally moms stay in the hospital 1-3 days after giving birth,

It depends how every thing is going. as long as you and the baby are doing well you won't be there long at all. If the baby is real small or not doing real well then the baby may have to stay longer then you do!

A month early is technically a week early. So no. It really depends on the baby, if they are healthy and everything seems alright then no.

It depends at what state the baby is developed at, if it's "compete", then you should be able to go home. If there's any problems of slower growth (some babies might take more time to "grow" in the gestation time) or other illnesses, they will keep the baby in, but for an undetermined amount of time.
