i went to he doctor today for my babys 3month check up and shots. she was asking about him and we were going over everything and she said "o and remember to keep him on his side or back while sleeping, cause that can lead to SIDS in a baby this age."
Well, just so happens my baby is a stomach sleeper... he sleeps so much longer and better but my doctor has me freaked out now.
what exactly is sids? any ways of preventing?

Well, I used to until now. I'm laughing at myself for doing this but here it goes. What name do you like best and why?

Michael Isaac
Brenden Michael
Brenden Michael Isaac
Braden Michael

Or if you want to suggest a name similar to these, please do.
Thank you in advance for tolerating another baby name question.

It's immoral and completely wrong in my opinion and i just wanted to see why other people thought it was right even (though it's baby murdering), or wrong.

See my mom had surgery to remove an aneurysm off of her brain. She stayed in the hospital for 2 weeks for that then they transferred her to a Rehablitation Center to help her get her strength and balance back. She is going to be let out this friday.

However the nurses there say that she does not want to do the Physical therapy and that they cannot keep her there cause she does not seem to want to do the things she needs to be doing.
She told me 2 days ago that she would get better at home. She eats so much better now, looks better but she cannot get around on her own.
Someone has to help her to the bathroom and to walk.
We are going to be staying with her (She has 7 kids) but i am worried that her depression is making her not want to get better. She has been at that place for 2 weeks.

She has balance problems. Everything else about her is good.
Do you think it sounds like she just does not want to be in the hospital or does it sound like she does not want to get better?

We would love to adopt a child rather than to have our own. Not because we don't want to have our own... but we both realize that there are so many MANY children overseas AND in the US that will grow up mentally damaged because there was no one around to love them. And rather than bring another child into the world to raise, we would love to raise one that is already here. The only problem is the cost. We really do not want a child from the US because the judicial system has given adopted children back to birth mothers before. If we go through with this, we would not be having any biological children and do not want to deal with being separated with our adoptive children. There are so many children in Russia that go insane from not being hugged or held. Why can't we adopt one for the cost of raising and loving a baby of our own? I don't mind paying for air-fare, health, compensating the orphanages, etc. But is there any way to do this without losing everything we have? Thanks!

My bright 8 yr old has caught on to the fact that Santa isn't real (no thanks in part to school friends!). I still have a believing 5 yr old and a 1 yr old. What is a good way to explain the "spirit" of Santa in a way that isn't too disappointing and will allow her to feel a part of the secret? I read the perfect answer in a magazine before I had kids, but of course can't recall what it said now that I need it! Your ideas would be welcome. Thanks!!

Does anybody else agree/disagree that we censoring too many things for our children and by doing so making them more fascinating and alluring for young people. An example is sex some parents make sex out to be this huge deal that has all these boundaries and rules with it when actually it’s just a natural act that people urge to do when there hormones start telling them to reproduce it’s a basic instinct and by telling children it’s bad to do before getting married and telling them they can’t have sex when teenagers , it just makes it more fascinating to them and a way to rebel as we all know , all teenagers do and they will go out and do it anyway without the guidance of their parents which they should have been giving them resulting in teen pregnancy etc

I know this is a dumb question. I was just wondering because you can kind of see his personal parts in the bath tub pictures but he is so cute. Is it inappropriate? What is your opinion?

I'm currently on the alternate list for an ADN (associate degree of nursing) program that begins in January. (FAST FORWARD A BIT) After I graduate and pass boards and get the RN, I would like to possibly work in Labor and Delivery. HOWEVER, I don't know how common it is to have a male L/D RN. Any ideas out there as to how common men are in L/D, or has any body had any experiences with a male RN during their childbirths (either positive or negative)?

Thanks everyone!

Just want some advice!
Im 20 years old and my husband is 22. We have been married for1 year and a half.
We just bought our first place, and this summer we bought our first new car!

I am also starting a job in December. I have been going to school, but taking a break. I will continue part time with school, but it will be doing an online program.

I really want to have a baby, but the only problem is that my mom wants me to wait. I feel like I am always waiting, and I dont think that I can wait anymore!

My 3 year old is having a rough time with her toddler bed. Now that she can get out, she climbs out in her sleep and then wakes herself up. I've tried putting her back in her bed, that's like 4 times a night and neither one of us is getting any sleep. I tried putting her mattress on the floor but she rolls off of it and wakes up. I'm at my wit's end. Is this a phase? We can't afford a twin bed right now so pls don't suggest that. I just want to know it will end at some point. Thanks
