My 3 year old is having a rough time with her toddler bed. Now that she can get out, she climbs out in her sleep and then wakes herself up. I've tried putting her back in her bed, that's like 4 times a night and neither one of us is getting any sleep. I tried putting her mattress on the floor but she rolls off of it and wakes up. I'm at my wit's end. Is this a phase? We can't afford a twin bed right now so pls don't suggest that. I just want to know it will end at some point. Thanks

She can climb over the guard rail. It's the biggest rail they have. She's very good at getting out of it. I'm not going to let her sleep in my room, otherwise she would never sleep alone!

Maybe she's not ready for a toddler bed. If she's crawling out in her sleep and you can't get a higher bar, then maybe she needs to go back to sleeping in a crib She can't possibly roll out of that, and you'll both sleep better. Put the side down a little bit so she can climb in and out on her own, but she'll stay safe inside it at night. Good luck!

It is a phase. You need to remain consistent and put her back in bed anytime she gets out. No loud talking or turning the lights on. Keep it quiet and simple. Consistency will be the key. You sound like you are willing to do it so go for it. Stay on the current path you are taking and stick with it. It will work out! I know it is frustrating. We all know it is and feel for you. Hopefully it won't last but a couple of weeks.

It will end. You might try one of those railings if you can find one to work with the bed, if it's a falling-out-of-bed issue. My son kept getting up and trying to sleep with me til he was 4. He sleeps beautifully in his own bed now.

Good luck!

Why not let her sleep in your room for a while so you both can get some rest? She might just not be quite ready to sleep on her own yet.

It isn't true that if you let her sleep with you she will never sleep on her own. My daughter slept in my bed from birth until she was 4, when she announced that she was ready to sleep in her own room. Because she was ready, it was a pretty easy transition...

Why don't you try putting the bed in your room for awhile? I've never had that problem with my kids they just somehow found there way to my bed during the night.
