I have a 17 yo who is disrespectful, manipulative, strong willed, and extremely oppositional. My husband and I are at our wits end with her. The more strict and the more we punish her, the more she punishes us. She has used school as a tool; she don't get her way, she don't go to school. Right now she is not going at all. Yes, we've been through every channel with that one. Her behaviour can be out of control at times which makes it miserable for our entire family (we have other children as well). We've tried counseling...we could barely get her there without a major fight, she was diagnosed with ADD and refuses meds. It has gotten to the point where we have thrown our hands up. We are worn out, we have tried to reach her but she won't meet us half way with anything. If we back off and cut her off financially (which we have somewhat), let things get worse before they get better kind of thing, do you think she'll snap out of it? Or, what I fear, fall further?

I swear to god this is true. I'm not sure how to ask my doctor about it. I've searched about it online and can't find anything.. which leads me to believe im off my damn rocker. Since getting pregnant, anytime my nipples are stimulated (during sex, foreplay, things of that nature) i get TERRIBLE ANXIETY. like a straight up anxiety attack! I get so sad/nervous/afraid .. ive had anxiety always in my life.. which i would describe as short periods of time that i get extremely depressed for NO REASON. and then it goes away on its own. Has this happened to anyone else? could the oxytocin that my body is letting out have this effect on me?

I have been very distracted this week and forgot to plan an activity for my daisy troop! Anyone have any quick, easy ideas? I don't have time to go out and buy anything. Our meeting is tonight! I am going back to school and just lost track of time.

i thought that in order to better understand each other, maybe this would be a good chance to answer a question without feeling like you're on the defense.

1. what is it you want to get from this sight?
2. what is your adoption story?
3. what are information are you trying to acquire?
4. what have you learned?

thanks, best wishes.

my dad is a single parent and i have only known him since i moved in at the age of 12. im now 15 almost 16. he grounds me over anything and its from everything. i just got grounded for 6 weeks. he believes that i make bad judge of who im friends with. i tried to listen to his side, but whenever i say something he says shut up.. im not alowed to have an individual opinion i supose. he doesnt seem to get that i am a very social teen and i do get very upset when i cant see my friends, who are just like family to me. please help me think of a way to tell him that grounding me for long periods of time is not the answer! i am at the point of wanting to run away, but i know that would mess up any future i would have. i cant wait until im 18 and can move out....please help!

I have four sons, Nathaniel Wyatt, Christopher Finley, Alexander Orion and Sebastian Joshua and my fifth son is due in a month. I'm looking for long first names that go with those of my sons, and middle names that go with their middle names. so far all I can think of are Jameson, and Benjamin for the first name and August, Jacoby, or Ridley for the middle. please tell me what you think of the names and give any suggestions you can come up with. Thank you.

My boyfriend and I have never had sex, but we have messed around, but we are careful. I don't start my period for another week or so. Sunday I threw up at 10:30 PM. I felt sick all day Monday, but didnt throw up. Tuesday morning I threw up. Then later in the day I threw up again. I have diahrea. The flu is traveling around the school, so I'm pretty sure/hoping that it's the flu. I am starting to feel a little better (tuesday afternoon). Is it possible to have pregnancy sickness this soon? My breasts arent sore, and I'm not having any other sign of pregnancy, but then again I havent missed my period yet. What is going on?

I'm wondering general thoughts about spanking, as used with children under 12 as a form of discipline. Do you see it as abuse? Do you see it as abuse only sometimes? What are your experiences?

There is a debate in Massachusetts about the prospect of outlawing any form of spanking or corporal punishment by parents to children under 18. What do you think:

My 4 year old daughter goes in next week for a colonoscopy. They are thinking that she has what are called polyps. I had never heard of them before and have only had time to do a small amount of research and reading about them. I just wanted to know if anyone was familiar with the procedure or with polyps in general. What can I expect? Any info will help! I'm very nervous for her...

I am concerned about my daily bowel movements. Everyday I have to strain and I hope it's not taking a toll on my unborn baby. I noticed the color is also dark green which is unusual. Is this normal? Are there any treatments to help ease the pain?

I have two sons'.. ages are 8 years old and 4 years old.
I admit that I am a bit over protective.
Having said that, my sister was razzing me at Thanksgiving because I don't allow my children to watch Spongebob, Lazy Town, Fairy Odd Parents, Transformers, Ninja Turtles, etc.
I just allowed my son to get a Nintendo DS and he is 8.
I don't allow them to drink pop. At this point, they don't even have an interest in it.
Am I hindering their development as boys?
I DEFINITELY encourage educational activities and they are very well rounded.
Do you think I am being too sheltering?
Just need opinions, because I thought I was doing right by them, but my sister thinks I need to loosen the reigns...
