I swear to god this is true. I'm not sure how to ask my doctor about it. I've searched about it online and can't find anything.. which leads me to believe im off my damn rocker. Since getting pregnant, anytime my nipples are stimulated (during sex, foreplay, things of that nature) i get TERRIBLE ANXIETY. like a straight up anxiety attack! I get so sad/nervous/afraid .. ive had anxiety always in my life.. which i would describe as short periods of time that i get extremely depressed for NO REASON. and then it goes away on its own. Has this happened to anyone else? could the oxytocin that my body is letting out have this effect on me?

No, sounds hormonal. Oxytoxin or whatever it is....too much or too little hormones can do a wide variety of things.

Did you know seratonin based on how much you have is responsible for both scizophrenia and alzheimers....it's amazing the things that hormones and chemicals can do to ones body.

Don't worry, your doc has heard and seen it all. Mention it to him/her and they will investigate.

Something you really need to ask your Ob/Gyn person, and she may refer you to a psychiatrist, your body changes a lot during pregnancy, hormones, etc., but it sounds like you may have an unaddressed issue of depression or anxiety way before you actually got pregnant, this probably should have been talked thru with someone to see if you need some help, so that you were aware of your status before a baby came into the picture as for sure you want stability for both of you. Talk to your Dr., or go into to see a good therapist and try to get to the bottom of it as it may or may not be a lifelong issue, best addressed sooner than later. Good luck to you and your family.

It could be stimulating too many hormones. There are studies that say nipple stimulation can cause labor (increases oxytocin) but it usually takes a while. I would try not to get them stimulated as much, just to be on the safe side. You don't want the stress to make your baby stressed out too.

I don't think you are insane. My breasts and nipples are also sensitive and although I don't get anxious, I get upset really fast when my husband tries to touch me and I don't want it. I don't know why I get so mad. It's hormonal. I'm 19 weeks pregnant.

that is so interesting. I have never heard of it but it sounds very possible. would be amusing if it wasnt dangerous. being pregnant makes hormones out of wack anyways so it could be numerous things
