hi again for those who keep saying gestational diabetes i forgot to mention i have already been tested for this as my first son was a huge baby (and to be honest this one is bigger by far) and they came back fine and have been monitoring me on that front. as for protien in my urine and stuff like that, that was tested today and came back fine so thats ok too.

i had the same thing happen to me. lucky me i still was pregnant for at least 2 weeks after that. haha

i recommend drinking gatorade or powerade. it has electrolytes in it that will boost your hydration level to the next level. if that doesnt help...just keep drinking water. when you are that far along...you pee a lot more because of the pressure on your bladder and you feel like you are ALWAYS drinking water. I could have sworn i should just have a cup attached to my bottom lip because i drank so much water and i still got dehydrated. just keep drinking as much water as you can and you will be fine. once your water breaks..it just gets worse. haha

Yes, I felt terribly thirsty as my labor approached ... if you have been checked for pregnancy diabetes, then you're okay ... but be careful, because you think you are thirsty now ... wait until you have 'just given birth' ... you will get EXTREMELY thirsty, and you will want JUICE of some sort ... I don't like orange juice, but I drank at least a gallon in the first 20 minutes after every one of my 5 kids!

How did you come about finding out you were dehydrated if you had no symptoms? I've heard that it is not good, you need to go to the doctor and have them push IV Fluids if you are that dehydrated. Good Luck!

Many common natural remedies are claimed to have blood sugar lowering properties that make them useful for people with or at high risk of diabetes. Learn here https://tr.im/CVhUv

A number of clinical studies have been carried out in recent years that show potential links between herbal therapies and improved blood glucose control, which has led to an increase in people with diabetes using these more 'natural' ingredients to help manage their condition.

Im 37 wks and have noticed that my fluid intake has vastly increased. I have spoke to midwife about this but she says its quite normal and I should think at least the baby is getting more liqiud not less.
I have had tests etc for diabetes and it has nothing to do with that.

I was extremely thirsty when I was pregnant. There are many reasons; body temperature, hormones and respiratory changes to name a few. For every ache and pain I was told to drink more water. I just drank a lot and ate a lot of raw fruits and vegetables.

Towards thye end of my third, I drank upo to a gallon a day and still felt thirsty. Never found a reason except that apparently my body needed it to flush out excess fluid I was retaining.

You need to call the midwife and tell her you are very thirsty, this is a serious sign of gestational diabetes and this late in the pregnancy is detrimental to you and your baby! Do not delay!

You may be feeling thirsty due to late onset gestational diabetes. Excessive thirst is a major symptom.

I would go to your OB-GYN ASAP and let them know of the change. You also need to monitor your legs for edema (swelling) and take a urine test to make sure you aren't developing pre-eclampsia...the urine tests checks for the spilling of protein in you urine and is a CRITICAL test and your midwife should be doing these checks every TWO WEEKS at this stage in your pregnancy.

If she is not, then you need to go to the ER TODAY.
