Hi all,

Any suggestions for good finger foods for a 7 month old? She really really wants to feed herself but the gerber puffs / baby mum mum rusks are making me nervous... and peas are too slimy for her to get her fingers around.

Other ideas?

My daughter is in 6th grade and she has had problems with her gym teacher since day one. We thought it was my daughter's attitude toward the teacher. My daughter's attitude changed, but the teacher seems to have gotten worse. She gives my daughter 1-2 zeros a week and is always writing her down for behavior problems. I was sent home a letter saying that my daughter doesn't participate or dress out. My daughter says that if she is not doing the exercises or whatever good enough she will give her a zero and tell her to sit out. She has threatened to fail her. My daughter got the indication that even if she did whatever she would fail anyway. There are kids in the class that can say that the teacher seems to pick on her and treat her unfairly. Is there anything that I could do or do we just have to deal with this? Since gym is a requirement, I can't have her removed. My daughter tells me if she gets in trouble or whatever at school so I believe her about this teacher.

the father of my 5 year old is an absolute nutcase!! we have joint custody of her and today is his day to have her. I dropped her off at school at 8am and then went home to sleep since i work nites (every Tues,Wed-same schedule for 3 years). My daughter ended up getting sick around 10am. she was throwing up so the school called both me and her dad b/c they couldn't remember which one of us had her today. 10 mins after the school called me, my ex called telling me I had to go pick up my daughter b/c his obligation to her didn't start until 3:30p when she normally gets out of school!! My ringer on my cell is always shut off when I sleep b/c I know it's not my day to have any of my kids. when I wouldn't call him back-he called the school that my other 2 daughters attend and my boyfriend's sister works at and asked for my boyfriend's sister!! he told the receptionist that I lived with my boyfriend and he needed to talk to the sister b/c my daughter was sick and he needed to get ahold of me

In my PE class we have about 30 special needs kids. Today we were just doing the rock wall and me and my friends were standing around talking. Then one of the special needs kids starts throwing accorns and grass at this guy. The guy is in the diffrent gym usually, so he's like " hey dude if you don't stop throwing crap at me i'm gonna beat ur a**". Does he seriously think telling a kid like that who dosn't really understand what that means is gonna solve anything? I heard him talking to his friends and he was like " I don't care if is handicapped i will still beat him up". My friend told me "yeah beating him up is just like slapping a 1yr old back for hitting". Does that guy have to be that stupid, it like just pissed me off so much what the guy was saying, he thought he was so cool that he was about to beat up a special needs kid. Ugh why are guys so mean and stupid?

I am starting my son on cereal tomorrow (he is 4 months and one week). Any tips on how I do this? I was going to wait until he was 5 months bc I thought it was better to wait but today at my WIC appt she told me I need to start now bc they can get diabetes later and all this other stuff. I do not get if they tell us to start at 4 months then why do they not pay for it until they are 6 months when they say it is better to start? Ironic huh! Also my son has cradle cap (I think thats the name) on his head. What should I do to fix that? Is that something I can do or should I ask his dr at his appt this thurs? Thanks

Note: I am writing this because I am curious as to what YOU would do in this situation. It is my friends younger brother and they DONT know what to do as of right now.
So my friends younger brother turned 4 lin june, and they are looking to get him into kindergarted next year.
The only problem is that he is probably WAY ahead of his age.
The basics: He is fully potty-trained, can count to ANY number, count to 20 in spanish, speak complete sentences, dress himself, brush his teeth, was his hands, ect.
This is a little weird for a four year old.: He can read most things, not the super hard words but most words, he can spell his name and as long as you tell him how to spell long words he will write them out, he knows ALL the capitals of the 50 states, the first 15 presidents in order, If you ask him "If your mailing a letter from arizona to michigan what states will it go through?" He will tell you, he can multipy, add, subtract..
How would you put him in kindergaten like this??

My son is almost 9 months old. I've never really had much of a problem with him falling asleep. I always tried to put him down drowsey, so he falls asleep on his own. When he has cried, i try to check back every 5-10 minutes, give him a pat, and leave the room again.

How do I get him to fall asleep, other then let him cry it out?

What do I do so I dont feel so GUILTY for letting him cry? It breaks my heart.... PLEASE GIVE SUGGESTIONS!

**SORRY IF IT'S GRAPHIC..**
My boyfriend and I had sex a couple months ago.. he only entered me half-way, then pulled out so we could be protected. Now I am randomly really nauseous and threw up this morning. I also been really emotional, and been extra sensitive to smells. My back has also been hurting alot. I had my period just last week, but I read that you can still be pregnant and get your period.
What do you think? Is it possible I'm pregnant? I'm really worried.. I'm only 18! Please help.

About two years ago I met a man that I'm now married to now. He has to continue living in Chicago due to his two small children from a previous marriage. I decided it would be best for me to be the one to move from Florida since my children are adults. My son has sinced moved up to Chicago to go to college. So it helps to have one of my children with me. But...My daughter who I use to go places with practically every day is still in Florida. And she says she doesn't want to move because it's too cold here. I feel like a bad mother for leaving her behind, and not only that I don't think I can live the rest of my life so far from her. We only see each other maybe every six months. And then it's only for a few days, because financially that's all we can afford. My heart is breaking at not being able to be with her. I ask other people if they would consider living so far from their kids, and they immediately say there is no way they could. I feel so horrible..I just don't know what to do.

my son is almost 7 months old. hes recently discovered that he can feed himself. every bottle, he readily grabs the bottle with a killer grip lol. try and get that thing away from him, and you'll get it. my mother in law was over for the first time since hes acquired this new skill. she proceeded to tell my husband NOT to let him feed himself, as she thought it was cruel. he responded by saying she was being ridiculous. we're young parents, so she tends to be critical of our parenting techniques. we dont let him cry unnecesarily in his crib because hes not tired yet, we let him have his alone time "in a babyproofed space obviously) because we believe in learning independence. our techniques have worked for us. we have an amazing son. he only cries when he needs something (why we dont let him cry as a teaching method). we completely disagree with her. she says she never let her kids feed themselves. obviously, we're doing things our way but i want to know the opinions of others on this

I am scared being pregnanat but also excited, when the babys going to kick and I can hold it. Yesterday I even (selfishly) thought about keeping it. It breaks my heart that they want me to kill their grandchild. Is there anything I can do to stop them?

These are the choices:
Janelle Brianne
Janelle Leann
Janelle Makenna
Janelle Rose

Which of these four choices do you like the best?
