Prenatal pills have been known to do that, but they aren't meant for that. Now, some doctors do recommend some new mothers continue to take them some time after giving birth. Also, in response to someone else's comment on here, a woman's hair doesn't fall out just because she discontinues taking the prenatal vitamins. That change comes from the hair having been in a growth state for 9 months (meaning the hair rested and didn't shed as much), and the hair she would've normally shed begins to come out after she gives birth. It's part of a normal process that all women go through after giving birth. It doesn't have to be to the same extent for everyone, either, as everyone is different.

Never heard of "prenatal pills just to get faster hair and nail growth". In the later months of pregnancy your hair and nails grow more quick naturally.

I didn't use prenatal pills and my hair and nails grew fast during 2 of my pregnancy's. I don't think that the pills is what makes your hair and nails grow. I could be wrong they may help with some people but everyones body is different.

It is not the prenatal pills that make your hair and nails grow faster during pregnancy, its the increase in hormones in your body that is produced during pregnancy.
Second thing is prenatal VITAMINS are just that VITAMINS. They have a bit more folic acid and thats about it. You can take biotin to make hair and nails grow faster..GNC makes a hair and nail formula too.
Look into vitamins not into prenatals for hair and nail growth.

Yeah but when u stop taking the pills your hair falls out! that's why pregnant women lose hair after the have a baby.
So many bad answers.
Prenatal pills are just vitamins, they are safe to take even if you are not pregnant but like I said on some people when they stop taking the pills, you lose some hair...this happened to me.
The girl who said Folic Acid is right, that's what makes your hair grow and it's in the prenatal pills. You can buy Folic Acid anywhere, Rite Aid, Save On etc...

It doesn't necessarily have to be prenatal vitamins. Almost any daily multivitamin helps with nail growth. Try one of the vitamins especially for women. As for the hair growth, when I was taking prenatals while pregnant, my hair grew more, but not 2in every month. Not to say it wouldn't for you or anyone else, everybody is different. It also depends on what you eat, whether you dye your hair, etc.

I'm in my third pregnancy, and I've never noticed these benefits while taking prenatal vitamins. (But pregnancy affects each woman differently- some woman naturally grow hair faster, while others lose it- like me) I've used Target's brand and the brand "One Source". If you are not pregnant, you shouldnt take prenatal vitamins- the high levels of folic acid in it isnt healthy for you if you aren't expecting. Try Vitamin E supplement or Gelatin supplements- they are great for hair and nails.

Ive been on prenatal vitamens for pregnancy, but Ive not taken them for only hair and nail growth. Ive heard when youre pregnant your hair and nails grow faster. As for how often your hair grows, I always assumed it grew 1/2 an inch every month, so an inch every 2 months.
