Request a conference, speak with your daughter's counselor, is there another gym teacher who's class she can be put in...any extracurricular activities that will count for a PE credit that she can do instead (for the spring semester)...lots of things to consider. If your daughter is truly innocent, then there is a lot you can do...

Arrange a meeting with the principal or Vice Principal and talk it over. I am just starting to go through that with my daughter who is in grade 8 and she has exercise induced asthma and she was told if she could not complete 17 laps of a run she would fail the class and she could only do 15 laps. This is the first year we have ever had a problem I went to the doctor and got a note for her if it does not imporve I will be in the Principals office so fast that she won't know what hit her.
I was so impressed with last year's teacher that he kept telling her to sit out as soon as she started coughing ( wish we had a male teacher this year as well)

You should have been at the school and talking to the teacher as soon as you heard of any trouble.
Especially since you got a letter explaining the problem.
Call the school and get yourself into a meeting with this teacher and/or the principal.

Well. As an 8th grade student dealing with the similar situation when i was in sixth grade, i'd suggest talking to the school counselor about having her schedule changed so she can have a different teacher? or even talking to the teacher could help. a conference perhaps? letting the teacher know you don't appreciate his/her attitude and that your daughter shouldn't be punished on her behalf. my mom did that- and boy. it made me life a lot easier.

I would request a meeting with the teacher to talk about whats going on. If that doesn't work I would show up and school and go to that class to see what is going on. Or you could send someone else so the teacher doesn't change their attitude because they see you. Then if you or someone else still sees a problem I would call and speak to the Vice-Principle or teacher about it.

You need to call the school and ask for a conference with her teacher. I would ask the teacher in a nice way what is it that your daughter is still doing wrong because she is coming home upsett everyday I you don't understand what it is that she is doing wrong. If that don't work then you can call the board of education and let them know what is going on.

I don't feel that if a child fails gym class, she is destined for life failure, but if you are concerned about this teacher's attitudes, talk with the principal (in a calm, mature manner). If that doesn't work, talk to the superintendent of schools....
i hope you get good advice here.

I don't understand the part where she needs to "dress out". She's in Elementary school. Do you mean that she doesn't put the right shoes on?? "Dressing out" comes in High School. (I suppose it depends on where you live?)
There could be a personality conflict. Perhaps you should schedule a conference with her teacher and the principal. Good luck!
