Nurse her.

I try to nurse our daughter no more than half an hour before feeding her solids. Then she has had her fill of milk and is ready to eat her baby food. Try that, then you won't have the awkwardness of taking the baby out of the highchair to nurse and then put back in to feed again.

Well, first is it your baby? Obviously if it's not yours gently redirect the child to their food. Second, if it is yours, are you trying to wean? If you are trying to wean then again, I would redirect the child's attention back to the food. If the babe can't be redirected, I would have someone else (like dad) take over feeding so that the child doesn't always associate breast with food. If you are just trying to get your little one to take food, try feeding, but if they won't take it, breastfeed, the eating will come with time and persistence.

Nurse her? It's just logical.

I guess you'd go ahead and nurse her/him. Or tell them that they need to finish their food first THEN they can have a drink.
